Pats against hunslet looks tasty. I hope there's big home support for the pats lads they will need everything they've got to win that fixture. Will be a battle in the forwards I recon.

Shaw Cross .v. Eccles is always a good game. Quite a history between these 2 clubs, going back to 1993-94 when they met for the first time at Eccles in the BARLA cup and Eccles won 18-17. In league and cup they have played each other 26 times with Shaw Cross winning 13, Eccles 11 and 2 draws. Eccles won 26-14 on their last visit to Shaw cross in 2009-10 but their only previous victory there was 4-0 in 1999-2000 when Dean Pickup kicked a penalty and 2 drop goals. Shaw Cross "nilled" Eccles 12-0 at Eccles the following season. There have been many close and low scoring games but Shaw Cross' biggest victory was 52-14 at home in 2007-08 while Eccles' best efforts was 36-0 at home in 2001-02 and 39-12 at home in 2003-04.

Really interesting to read through those stats, Cheers Rooster. Really looking forward to the game. I believe we got a bit of a hiding 3 years or so ago at your place, in what was my last game. Do you mind if we use your info in the program?

We lost a lot of players last season Beefy and in the opening games the team picked its self so, had we played you then I personally would not expect to win (Waits for howls of derision from Eccles people) , although Eccles never throw the towel in and the lads have made my predictions look stupid many times (Leigh Miners away in the premier). We were very unlucky at Stanley and Dudley Hill, but we have a couple of new players now and a couple have come back so we have competition for places and we are playing with confidence. 4 successive wins now. I have not seen Shaw Cross for a about 3 years now but I have a mate from Leeds who watches amateur games as a neutral and reckons you have a very good young team. Incidentally he  will be at the game Saturday as well. I expect it to be very close and would not like to predict a score. See you Saturday.
