Nothing surprises me anymore - the game's getting dafter everyday.

Only in rugby would the rules be set up so that you could take players from a clubs first team line up at will for the whims of the S/L clubs. Rules set up to keep the unfashionable clubs where they are. Red Hall you are and always have been a joke.

Good win for Keighley tonight against Workington! It's getting really tight at the bottom.

More evidence of one of the reasons why the approach taken to partnering this season is not a formula for sustained improvement on the field.

Also noticeable that Gary Chambers stated he only had 17 players available for selection last week.

Took you time Phillh!

We are suffering from injuries at the moment as you know, similar to other clubs and as we has in previous seasons. Would you suggest we bring in more players from other clubs?

Its a tough physical sport, injuries happen and this shouldn't come as a surprise. Suspensions also happen.  As do peaks and troughs of form. Coaches need options, to allow them to vary tactics to suit the opposition / conditions / etc.  Players ought to know that if their standards slip there is a threat of being dropped - in some cases that's the most effective way to get the best out of them.  There are many reasons why its important to have a strong squad with some depth.  The job of getting the best from a squad is complicated enough, without having to factor in the needs of another club to whom Swinton Lions has made itself subservient.

All the more reasons why its preferrable to have a greater emphasis on boné fide Swinton Lions players, rather than trying to cobble together a side from an absolute bare minimum number of players under contract and too heavy a reliance on players whose first loyalty is to Warrington.

One good thing about this latest departure is that Martin Ainscough is due to return to stand off which will please me.

Does the same reasoning ring true with Leigh now they have taken a second dual reg from Wigan.?
