Well done Hornets and denying Oxford the bonus point.  Why we have to concede so many before we start to defend and attack, perhaps someone can enlighten me?

Owdum should have shared the spoils at NWC.. missed conversion on hooter! Still....things are getting closer.

Just got back from a 400 mile round trip to Oxford and those that missed the game also missed a treat.

Anyone that follows Hornets is aware that people with weak tickers and suspect blood pressure should keep away.

After going into a 12 -6 lead Hornets fell apart with some weak tackling and total lack of concentration and ended that half 22-12 in arrears but at least they had the advantage of playing down the slope in the second half. OK it isnt a Mount Pleasant slope but it does give teams a slight advantage playing down the field.

Hornets needed a quick score in the second period but lo and behold Oxford scored a converted try to put us 28-12 in arrrears and there looked to be no way back, in fact it would be fair to say that the fans were resided to another season in this division.

Soon after Oxford looked certain to score again but Wayne English pulled of an amazing try saving tackle........How does he do it against bigger players than him, thundering down on him?  It might seem a bit a bit strange but that try saving tackle was to become the gamebreaker because Chris Hough came back into the foray and we all know what Chris brings to the table.

He got the forwards onto the front foot and they took charge of the game and Hornets scored 30 unanswered points to sent us all into raptures.

After the final whistle the played came back onto the pitch to perform the Hornets song......HORNETS ARE YOU READY READY....

That was the icing on the cake that sent us on all on our long journey home with very smiley faces.

It is also worth mentioning that the support was amazing considering the travel involved, more of the same at Gateshead please.

Agreed, just got back. Hornets fans must of made up 50% of the crowd. A great day at a lovely location. Frightening at times but a solid 2nd half. Hull & Ratu superb for me. With Woz Thompson leading the pack
