Spiers returns to Dons

1 post in this topic

Russ Spiers has rejoined Doncaster for the rest of the season. The athletic prop forward played an integral part of the Dons success in 2012 after joining from Wakefield on a dual registration contract at the end of March. Spiers went on to play 18 times for the club, including the Championship One Grand Final, and notched five important tries during his stay.

The 22 year-old quickly became a favourite with the Dons faithful but opted to join Championship club Dewsbury Rams at the end of the season.

The move reunited him with his former Wildcats academy coach Glenn Morrison and has played 10 times for the Rams in 2013.

Spiers said, "It's good to be back at Doncaster and I can't wait to start playing for the club again.

"I'm looking forward to meeting up with the lads and the club has a great coaching team and a great set of fans."
