It's now all to play for , lots of twists and turns before the season is over . So many teams can beat any other on their day .Another big game for Hornets next week at Skolars

Half way through the league season and things have just got really interesting thanks to Hemel proving that the Cru' are not unbeatable.

First place is definitely achievable, those bonus points will prove vital come the end of the season.

Absolutely, the league is far from over and after today's results it just got very interesting indeed!

If Hornets beat Skolars next week they will have 22 points and with Crusaders the week after could be level depending on who has a bye week next week.

Hornets have home games against All Golds, Thunder, Scorpions and Oxford which should be wins if we are serious about promotion. There's also the televised game against Oldham which will be close as they usually are and it could be the decider between us which would make it that much more serious, if the Biffo derby was already.

As the squad are now looking very much the team to beat these next 3 away fixtures are of paramount importance. Crusaders have had a wake-up call today as they wouldn't have expected to lose at Hemel and we will have to guard against any complacency when we go there on July 7th.

That said the squad really stood up today, several times Thunder threatened our line but on all but the one occasion we managed to snuff out their attacks. At the final whistle they all had a quick chat and then came over to the travelers and did the Hornets chant which they really do with gusto. That is a happy squad.

A special mention today for Michael Ratu, he really looks the business and the Thunder fans were very appreciative with their praise for him. Crooky only missed 1 from 8 and the tries were spread around a bit.

Finally, a mention for the great Thunder fans, they never let the score cause them to get bitter they still have a laugh as when we were chanting "we want 50" they came back with "we want 10". Magic.

Pugwash.

Very surprised by the Hemel result against North Wales. Having watched the video clips of their matches on their web site they do not look a top table team. They looked an average team against Gateshead and Gloucester.

We should have put them away at Spotland but let them back into the game.
