Leeds player banned for one match

Leeds Rhinos centre Joel Moon has been suspended for one match after submitting an Early Guilty Plea to the Grade B charge of making a dangerous lift on Hep Cahill of Widnes Vikings in the 18th minute of the Super League Round 4  fixture played at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Monday June 17.

The real story is that a Leeds player actually got banned at all.

Yes,because they never, ever get banned. :sclerosis:

I expect a 10 page thread on southstander.com on this.

Why,from what i've seen on Southstander it's been accepted that Moon has a one game ban.All seems fair enough.

Watched a re-run of the game today and yes moon did lift Cahill but in the course of the match there was several incidents of the same but they warranted no punishment, inconsistency is the word that springs to mind.

I'm not complaining he's got a ban. Just watch O'Loughlin he does it all the time. If you penalise one why should somebody else get away with it ?

Well of course. Now that a Leeds player has actually been banned, every other player in the world should be banned to make up for it.

Obviously I didn't see the game, but Ive read from people who said things went unpunished from Widnes. There is desperation to stop Leeds winning another SL title

I don't know. Why don't you explain to me how Ryan Bailey has got away with virtually anything for the last 10 years?

Ah,the old Ryan Bailey ploy, you do know he has had bans don't you.As the man himself says "haters gonna hate"

So has virtually every other player, but most clubs just accept it and move on.

Leeds player gets banned for one match, and it is overwhelming evidence of a conspiracy to stop Leeds winning another GF.

BY the way, Bailey has not received 10% of the bans he should have had over the years.

Really, yet we get people like you who then say it's a conspiracy by the RFL for Leeds to win the GF.

In your opinion, yet the disciplinary committees have thought otherwise,I know who's ruling I would accept.

IMO the lift by moon was innocuous and certainly didn't deserve a ban, it was no worse than joe mellors in the first half.

Interesting no action seems to have been taken against the shoulder charges I've seen on sky recently; Winterstein and Soliola are two I can remember.

(Where'd everybody go?!)

It's a conspiracy to stop Leeds winning yet another GF I tell you,a conspiracy. ;)

I've stripped out all the 'my club's better than your club' drivel to avoid having to leave the thread locked, and this is all that's left.

If it starts up again, Joel Moon won't be the only one facing a suspension.

Right,so we can't counter the usual lies made up about certain players from certain clubs,we just let them continue.Fair enough.

Everything in the garden is rosy and we all play nice.

Again, inconsistency,Mellor wasn't penalised for lifting the legs,I think he was penalised for interference.

strange that leuluai hasn't been cited for the shoulder charge which was put on report, i think that moon has been singled out unfairly by the powers that be.

It was put on report to see if contact was made with Hardakers head,it wasn't,so penalty sufficient?

Many fans seem to be confused about shoulder charges now, even Eddie Hemmings (who knows everything!) started spouting rubbish about "well if that was a shoulder charge then isnt it a straight red?!".

Well no, the old legal shoulder charge results in a penalty now, nothing more. Thats all thats changed!

A shoulder charge to the head, illegal last year and still illegal now, is completely different!

Fairdoos, I dunno if I've got wired crossed somewhere, do they get a match in the NRL for it then? If so I think that's where I got the mistake, if not then I dunno.

And Webby, what if my club is better than someone else's club?!

Leuluai isn't that kind of player.
