USARL & AMNRL Join Forces To Bring You USA vs Canada

The USARL and AMNRL organizations have negotiated a deal between them along with the USA Tomahawks and Canadian Wolverines to host the USA vs. Canada Colonial Cup test match immediately following the USA Rugby League National Championship Match on Saturday August 24th at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken PA.

It is a landmark deal for both the USARL and AMNRL and will see members of both organizations working together for the first time in 3 years. The sides have been negotiating for some time and the Canadian Rugby League was also involved to help facilitate the event happening.

The USA Rugby League National Championship Match starts at 3pm, with the USA vs. Canada following it at 6pm. Admission to the event will be $8 for adults and children under 13 are free.

The Valley Forge Casino Philadelphia Fight will have a 30 Keg beer truck on hand full of $4 Victory Brewing Company Lager, Summer Love, Headwaters Pale Ale, and $3 Bud Light. We will also have a full grille with concessions that include hamburgers, hot dogs, Chick Fil-A Sandwiches and Nuggets, Chips, Soda, Powerade, and Water. Fight and USARL merchandise will be available along with an event T-Shirt. Credit cards will be accepted at the field for food, beer or merchandise.

During the earlier USARL Championship match popular local 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia Morning Radio Hosts Preston Elliott and Steve Morrison are going to be in attendance mingling with international and local rugby league enthusiasts and their fans. Preston will be on hand from 2-4 pm, and Steve will be there from 3-5pm.

A.A Garthwaite Stadium is the home of the USARL Valley Forge Casino Philadelphia Fight and is located at East 11th Avenue and Harry Streets in Conshohocken, PA 19428. There is plenty of parking surrounding the stadium in the local neighborhood and also at 13th and Hallowell streets next to the park.

We want to give special thanks to Mr. Ed Phipps – Parks and Grounds Director and the Borough of Conshohocken for their never ending support with not only these events but with everything the Fight do!

Bring the family out and don’t miss out on what is going to be an enormous afternoon of Rugby League in the USA!!

Nothing about USARL players being selected (and it's likely a lot of the likely players would be in the GF anyway), but it's progress!

Yes, but nothing about them NOT being selected either. And a 30-keg beer truck eh? :)

Ever tried Boston lager?

Yes and it's decent but the Boston Beer Company services a niche market.

The major players, Budweiser, Miller,Coors, Michelob etc serve no flavour weak tasting pilsner type stuff which is very poor.

How unlike you to focus only on the big players - the elite, commercialised sector if you will - and ignore the championship winning beers out there that deliver top quality results but are ignored by all but the faithful.

Goose Island for mine.

I would have to agree that major American beers are rubbish. People know that I love beer so often get it me for presents, so I often end up with Bud, Coors or some such weak lager.

Give me a Becks or European lager any day of the week.

You are so right. A glass of Sam Adams summer ale would go down a treat right now. I will now revert to my usual underdog role.

The AMNRL and the USRL would be a good fit for Sam Adams beer and the Boston beer Company. A niche beer of good quality sponsoring a niche sport of good quality, like the beer company an upstart trying to ferment a market direction change in the land of the free and mega corporation domination.

The RL authorities in the states should approach them for some sponsorship for the Rugby World Cup. After all if Fox broadcast the cup games in the states they could get some super exposure for a small outlay, not to mention Australian, New Zealand and British and European market penetration..

Brooklyn lager is actually the devil. It possessed me one night, I don't know what happened, but I awoke with a sense of having been reclaimed from the hellfire of bealzibabs anal cavity, it was NOT a hospitable place ;)

They should sell it at the Salford Red Devils stadium.
