Sundays Match & The Weather

12 posts in this topic

If you are attending Sundays match at Whitebank folks, please remember that's its a veritable sun trap, and temperatures that are already high, can soar in the absence of a breeze!

So please, in the interests of your health and safety, remember to drink plenty to keep your fluids up, put on sun screen and think about a cap/visor/parasol/sun shade for children and babies.

If you forget your sun cream, and feel you need some, or need to reapply to your children, there will be some factor 50 available in the control room cabin!

We don't want people fainting from sun or heat stroke....you don't want to wake up and find big Phil Black the Ground Safety Officer giving you the kiss of life!!

At last years Easter game against hornets some chap behind us passed out with heat stroke. So it's important to heed outsiders words.

Good advice regarding the sun and most important of all - BE THERE!

To be honest, the present set-up of players and coaching staff, is THE most exciting and refreshing I have seen at Oldham in many years. Yes, we have had had some good spells in recent seasons that gave us all hopes of success in the Grand Finals but for all the experience in those set-ups there was always that nagging doubt that 'something was missing' when it came to the 'crunch'. Now, it feels different with a young, talented and enthusiastic side who are prepared to give 100% in every game. The fitness levels are absolutely outstanding, they have the desire to improve their game week by week and they quite clearly enjoy playing together. The loan players too, are blending in well and adding their own strengths and qualities to the side, so maintaining the performance levels of the whole squad.

Now is the time for all fans of the Roughyeds to stand up and be counted by showing their support for these lads on Sunday as they hopefully go to the top of Championship 1, with an exciting few weeks ahead. They really DO deserve it.

On Friday night there is also another good reason to be down at Whitebank with the U/20's side taking on Salford and that should be another cracking game of rugby league to watch after some thrilling performances already this season.

So, let's all enjoy the weather and cheer on the Roughyeds as well this weekend.

COME ON THE YEDS!

Totally agree Logic, the team and backroom staff are doing a brilliant job as are those supporters who turn up week in and week out. We now need the stayaways to come and support the team. Let's put other issues to one side and get behind the lads. And as Logic says we have two opportunities this coming weekend and some of the stuff the U20s have played has been superb. COME ON YOU YEDS!!!!!!!
