BANDS: the law

40 posts in this topic

no banjos

no trumpets

no synthesisers

no drummers who sing

no double basses

no trombones

guitars-no point otherwise, but no fiddly widdly solos and a rhthm player who cranks out some heavy chops

sax-yes but guest players or multi instrumentalists only

organ: yes but preferably hammond

piano-fender rhodes/wurlitzer or battered upright

front man/woman yes as long as it's not the appalling Liaam gallagher or Jon Anderson,

now let's rock

And trumpets

And banjos. And synthesizers. (an intriguing mix, but one of my favourite current bands, Public Service Broadcasting manage to pull it off).

Flatfoot 56 have bagpipes and they are great.

The definition of a gentleman is the sort of man who knows how to play the bagpipes, but doesn't.

Renoized. This band really rocks, using synthesiser and electronic drum kit. They played the Black Swan last night and were very very good .... Sisters of Mercy meets the Human League.

... Sisters of Mercy meets the Human League.

Sort of dog on a piece of string losers meets third rate boutique shop assistants

What's the point?
