Mayfield show Hornets the way forward

17 posts in this topic

A great result today for Mayfield 80-16 against third placed Hunslet, and a tonic too for any Hornets fans present after the recent malaise.

Well done Mayfield team and coach - a copy of the video please to Spotland.

What a fantastic performance by the Field. They battered Hunslet from first to last. The final touch was Lewis Sherridan touchline conversion to bring up the 80 points. Others with great performances were Mark Biggins who took the ball up at pace all afternoon and Joe Quianici for his 4 or was it 5 tries and a whole string of bone crunching tackles. No wonder Hunslet got on their coach and made an early exit home to Yorkshire.

A poor show by Hunslet leaving after the game without coming into the club house. Interesting that their coach stoped at the Offlicence in Castleton to get drinks rather than go in the bar at Mayfield.

Mayfield make the short trip to Eccles tonight for a 7.30 KO looking to close the gap to the promotion places

If you fancy a bit of Friday night RL get over and support Matt and the lads

Another very good win for Mayfield 22-16 today against 2nd placed East Leeds.  Hope we are saying the same tomorrow. Very wet weather heading north overnight could prove a factor and test the new turf!

A great win again by Mayfield. The highlite being Mat Calland's try. Only he knows how he scored it. The whole Mayfield team stood up to a very big East Leeds team and saw them off.

Another away win 44-10 and now just a point of the promotion spots with 4 home games out of 6 to go. Let's hope we can celebrate a double act  for the town.

A great win away at Stanley. With one or two players away and playing half the game with 10 men this was a fine performance against a much improved team.

Ady got 10 minutes and Sam Butterworth was sent off for a high shot that only the ref saw. The same ref that played 6 minutes short in the first half. Everyone on the ground could not believe it when he blew to end the first half. He was so embarased that he and his two touch judges went to the changing rooms for 15 minutes.

It's high time something is done with these clowns. They are slowly but surely ruining the game
