He hasn't had much opportunities at our place but when he's been given one he hasn't pulled up any trees for us. He's way down our pecking order and we've loaned players in before putting him in the team. He hasn't played full back for us in his opportunities so maybe putting him their might see him a different player. He's very quick though just needs his defence to be better.

Yes the des years were good. But was it worth the 2 years of success for the mess the club was left in financially. The club now looks like its got a hell of a job trying to clear the debts and still somehow put a competitive team on the pitch. And des didn't get banned for nothing.

I for one enjoyed the dj days. over the last 20 years our club has been up n down like a yoyo but we won nowt. tell me when in the last 20 years have barrow  been debt free. it would be nice to know?. all clubs have debt its part of this game im afraid even superleague with 1.7mil going in their tills.

des made a lot of mistakes mostly not keepin his mouth shut the biggest and he got found out.

my lads got northern rail final tickets, barrow v wigan ,cas v barrow , grand final ticket and a saints v barra in his drawer and this is from last five seasons.

other clubs out their are in the same boat as us now and havnt had any of them days out. we will bounce back and hopefully have more of them days again.

around 40-50k overdraft when Des joined the board, we also owed loaned money to former directors

Agreed that this isn't a DJ thread but finances are so important. According to the statutory accounts the net current liabilities were £70,000 in 2005 but had risen to £270,000 by 2011.

I have on good authority the debt in 2006 was 671k. Who feels stupid now scrumhalf, and as for raider96

It's been stated that the debt before Des joined was a 40-50k overdraft and money owed to former directors. Des joined in the middle of 2006.

When Des left the debt was near half a million. The '40-50k overdraft and money owed to former directors' figure for when Des joined the board has come from someone who was on the board in 2006.

Where has your £671,000 figure come from?

I was told by a newly elected bod member that the club had debts of roughly 250k when des joined. This will include the mortgage on the grand stand I presume. I may be miss informed but whatever it was the present bod are doing a sterling job reducing it.

Dony feel stupid at all scrum half, figure i got was from a 'good source'

Back to Ben Hellewell, how's he doing up there, and what position is he playing? I see he scored 2 against Fax, thereby helping both clubs out.

He's been awful. You really don't want him, we could do you a favour and sign him on a permanent basis if you want.
