BARLA GB LIONS GET IN LINE FOR THE ARMY

9 posts in this topic

The BARLA Great Britain Lions, who embark on their tour of Australia on Monday 26th August from Manchester Airport, will be getting themselves `lined up and ready for action' at 2.00pm on Sunday 4th August at Blackbrook ARLFC.

The Loins side will be playing the Army that day as a prelude to the tour following a number of preparatory squad sessions in the in the past few months.  BARLA Great Britain International Manager Mick Turner said,

“The lads have turned out and trained together over the last few months to prepare for the tour but you can only do so much training. It will be great for them to have a hit out before we go out to Australia three weeks later and were we are as a squad.

“We’ve played the Army over the last few years and would like to thank them for playing us again, they are a good tough side and we will know we have been in a game after the clash. We hope there will be a good turn out as there are no other open age games being played on the day.”

Slightly facetious question, which nation's army were we facing?

The British Army with a lot of Fijians in the squad. when they first spoke I thought they were posh Yorkshire men, until I realised it was a completely different language:)
