Well the council should see the light, why have a 85% smart stadium and have it spoiled!! Do hope you guys can get it finished!!

It has nothing to do with the council. We own our own ground and are responsible for any work done there.

Its been well documented that Simba applied to the RFL's stadium development fund a year or so back with a view to finishing the stand. He never got a reply, and when he contacted them was informed that the money they had set aside was no longer available and had been used to fund 'other projects'.

Also, when the top section was being drawn up to be constructed with the money that the club had, they made a request to the Council for a loan - note loan, not a gift or donation - which would be paid back at the going rate, so that the complete stand could be built all along that side of the pitch. The request was turned down.

Kirklees Council aren't renowned for their support of either Batley Bulldogs or Dewsbury Rams.

Would love to see another seated stand where the old terrace was, this time with RLFC or Bulldogs on it - the old long stand side would look terrific with an all seater stand running the length of the pitch down that side.

But the only time you would fill it is when you would play Leeds in the cup.

What a piece of work you are Eddie!  Impossible to miss the way that you only crawl out of the dung heap when you think there is something detrimental to be said about the Bulldogs.  Your attempts at wit bear no resemblance to the banter that is usually seen on these pages, just a constant stream of poisonous drivel, presumably designed to cause discomfiture to anyone connected to Batley, a town and team which, by your own admission, you hate with a passion.  Hate is a destructive emotion and has much to say about its advocates.   Perhaps BSJ, as one who employs wit to great effect, will take the time to explain the concept of Schadenfreude to you; it too has a bad habit of rebounding.

Eddie always seems to miss the fact that, based on the comparative populations of our towns, Dewsbury's crowds are even more embarrassing than our own.

Admittedly, but all the same its one that didn't really need to be made. Especially not by someone who supports a club that took 19 years from the day it was opened to implement any ground improvements whatsoever. I wonder how Mr Sawyer's plans for a hotel, casino and outdoor complex are coming along? I bet he's spent more on commissioning fancy artists impressions of unrealistic pipedreams than he has on the Ratite Stadium.

I know what Schadenfreude means and maybe you need to inform Piggy's mate of this.

So when would you fill the stand? You only got 450 in attendance last week.

No one is saying we would Eddie. We are just pleased to see progress as that development will finish the ground off nicely. The condemned area has been a bit of an eysaw for the last few seasons.

I have to agree it needs knocking down and will look better with a new stand there.

How do you know I don't travel away? We know when you pups come to the Rams as you increase our gates by ten. How many of you Batley fans will travel to Keighley on sunday? Your away support is pathetic for a top 5 side
