Just a heads up, although I doubt I will be watching myself!!

Long Live Britain, 9-10pm, BBC1, Tonight

Long Live Britain
Season 1 Episode 1 of 2
Julia Bradbury, Phil Hammond and Phil Tufnell present the first of two programmes tonight raising awareness of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and liver disease. The show comes from the Rugby Super League's Magic Weekend in Manchester, where hundreds of people undergo the nation's largest-ever combined health screening. Fifty NHS nurses and a team of doctors provide health checks for more than 400 members of the public to find out if they are at risk of developing one of these preventable conditions. At the same time, Phil examines a group of celebrities who could be at risk, and when three of them receive some alarming results, they all agree to make some changes. Can actress and singer Jodie Prenger, former EastEnder Ricky Grover (Andrew Cotton) and Benidorm star Crissy Rock turn their lives around? Postponed from July 22

Heard the stats at the end of the show.

Around 400 people tested for the health problems, 73% referred to their GP to have their problems looked at and taken further.

73% at risk! Good Grief!

Loved the comment about the venue being ideal due to the high percentage of overweight middle aged men......quite a few stretched warrington shirts were on show

I understand scores of people from East Hull were treated for shock whilst a Mr S Ganson from St Helens was told he needed glasses.

The one thing he doesnt need is glasses....he probably had already had too many.

Just realised I could sell him a number plate as well...GA11 SON with a strategically placed fixing screw. It might be illegal but that would suit him.

Mind you he might prefer HU11 HKR cos he thinks he has evened it out over two Magic Weekends and deserves the freedom of Hull.

Will you ever stop picking the sore?
