Moorends-Thorne Marauders `A` V Kingsley

Both games kick-off at 2.30pm on the Miners Welfare ground, Grange Road, Moorends, Saturday 10th/August/2013

On hearing of the untimely death of Kim Chapman the young cousin of the Marauders head coach, the club decided to donated all proceeds from their double header game day (£1,800.00) to her family.

Both games where played in good spirit with the Marauders first team having a full complement of 17 players and 32 for the second teams fixture, the firsts ran out 38 - 10 winners with both sides showing good skills, the 2nds went down 34 - 14 but displayed plenty of promise for a very young side.

Blimey Jim, that's a lot of players for a Saturday in the middle of summer.

Yes we did well to say we also had a few working away, involved with Sheffield, injured and on holiday, but come the start of the season in just 4 weeks time we should be firing on all four cylinders with everyone fresh from their hols.

Well done to your club for that very kind gesture.
