Rochdale v Oldham 7pm Spotland

No doubt that Bloomfield is a good player that's why I cannot understand why he has to go into the tackle using his knees and forearm. Langley is no saint but there is only so many knees and forearms a player can take.

Anyway it was a great game of rugby league and a pity there had to be a loosing team, I think a draw would have been a fairer result.

It's interesting to see the comments about Howdumbers out singing the Hairnets. Howdumbers were contained mainly on the left of the Main stand and Hairnets on the right. We could clearly hear our fans singing but hardly a murmur from yours and I suppose that's how you saw your set doing.

Ah well never mind really enjoyed the night and the craic with you lot in the bar afterwards. To the oldish couple I was sat with outside just wondering how the chap is after his fall in the bar, hope he is ok now.

Allroughyed, what happened to the pint after the game, thought you would have come over to gloat. Afraid you may have had to buy me a pint.

Oh and finally whilst every club has an idiot the one Howdumber who thought it big to spit in the Wayne English's face as he came off should be banned from attending games. He was caught on cctv and certainly will not be allowed in Spotland again.

I was in the bar after the game with Filipono the Bull. I'm being blamed for the spitting incident, but I want to put it on record that whilst I gave the Hornets team some stick as they left the pitch, I never at any stage spat at anyone. It's a disgusting act, and one that I was on the end of many years ago when I refused to let a passenger on my bus because he said he was under 16, and wanted a child fare. I cant tell you how offended I was. I'm 56, and gave that act up decades ago. Mr and Mrs Hough may like to spread inaccuracies about the so called spitting incident, but believe me, I would never stoop so low. I hope that sets the record straight. Also Dave, I thought Hornets were the better side 1st half.

an Oldham fan who was old enough to know better was at the side of the home dugout as the Hornets players came off , I did not see him spit but was swearing and wanting to fight with Wayne he was escorted out of the ground and continued to cause a scene out there .His actions should have lead to his arrest and a ban from all rugby grounds but it seems like he's got away with his disgraceful actions .Was a great derby 'match with plenty of banter hopefully we will meet again this season.

Wanting to fight with Wayne ? Are you having a laugh.

The so called fan posed for a press photographer as he was being taken out so hopefully he can be recognised and banned from at least Hornets.

It was a great game to watch and would have made good TV. I hope this blokes antics were not broadcast as he brought shame on Rugby League.

Hi OutOfTownRoughyed.

I was in the stand behind the incident and saw him giving two fingered gestures and swearing at a Hornets player and seemingly wanting to fight. I am not sure if I would recognise him again as I was behind him. Quite a few people saw the incident. It was a shame because as far as I was aware it was an isolated case and I have not seen any other Oldham supporter behave like that in over 50 years of watching Rugby. If Oldham are keen to identify him I am certain that the press photographer took his picture.

Its a shame this happened and has gained a lot of attention and i have spoken to wayne english n apologised from the Roughyeds fans that werent involved but havin not seen the incident myself i cant comment on what happened, but i know the man accused and for a start the spitting accusation is a joke and i just think emotions overboiled in heat of a tense derby and while im not condoning it i dont think it should detract from a really good game and a quality derby full of passion and fire that could of gone either way right up to the end of the game. No doubt we will meet again very soon pedro
