Next Season

It wouldn't be logical at all as it immediately renders an entire C1 season as virtually pointless, other than playing for pride.

It's the same as relegating 4 from SL and promoting 2 from the Championship to make 12. I highly doubt there will be promotion in Championship 1 next season.

I put this on the Hunslet board discussion:

If we go down, my cunning plan would be:

Spend decent money (if available?) on 4 key players - 1, 7, 9 & 13 - and get them on 2 year contracts

Then keep all the young lads we have currently (don't really think any of them have let us down) and

play them in the starting 17 next season & keep the same group for 2015 so you get a team built over

2 seasons & the team spirit, togetherness, mates etc, etc

By the way, understand all contracts are null & void if we go down,

but don't assume that all our better/key players will definately jump ship...........

Its exactly what happened in 1996 mate, only Keighley didn't get much notice.!

Aye we would cope. Its about being smart really.

For example: If Scott and Golden understandably left, a back row of Pickles, Mallinder and Pickets with Tyler Graig as back up is more than enough for Championship 1.

They cant relegate from SL next season under terms of licensing, so that's different.

That wasn't from division three (part-time) to division two (part-time).

Anyway, it has not yet been decided whether anyone will be promoted from C1 next year. And if at least one team don't go up, it would be bad, IMO.

Next season is the last year of the license's from this time round so they can just say the bottom 2 are out instead of having another round.

Good point.

Maybe they should indeed relegate 3 and promote 1.

Have a look at the Fev board - & also the London Broncos other message board -

interesting stuff....

When you look round the other message boards, you realise just how many clubs

have quality players signed on for 2014 - just wondering what will be left for the clubs

that survive the fight at the bottom - not many class half backs left to pick from....

The ones at the bottom have the least money anyway, so they always get left with the scraps.

Hello, interested outsider here.

Champ One is not the poison chalice everyone fears it is. We (Doncaster) spent a few years in there and have come out of it a lot stronger than we went in, in playing terms at the very least.

Our crowds were actually higher in Champ One than they are this year by virtue that we won more often (although there was also a price increase which is an ongoing debate). Oldham seem to be enjoying their season and gathering their own momentum down there, and some of the newer clubs are establishing themselves nicely.

Of course, the biggest ball ache for supporters is the travelling distance to away games but use it to your advantage. Film the away game and show it in your bar on the Monday, taking money over the bar and in raffles etc in the process

As a Town supporter I would say that compared to last season in C1 and this year in Championship, if anything (apart from Featherstone and perhaps Leigh) we haven't seen an increase in visiting fans. And one thing has been noticeable is visiting fans heading home right after the match instead of stopping for a drink, and Hunslet hold the record for the quickest getaway so far!!!
