What's on TV and When? Round 25 Game Talk - Taufua, Barba etc; Monday's team news

15 posts in this topic

Jorge Taufua has been punished by Manly. They have dropped him for the next two games (R25 & R26). This is for an incident that happened months ago where he was charged for spitting at a policeman. He has just admitted the offense hence the action by Sea Eagles.

Ben Barba is going to Brisbane. It has been announced he's been released by Bulldogs and will sign for Broncos.

Kade Snowden has accepted a 7 week ban for his collision with the jaw of Ray Thompson. If he'd contested it he'd have risked a 9 week ban if found guilty. Wayne Bennett is not happy with the punishment system.

All eight games will be shown in the UK this weekend.

There's some cracking games in prospect.

For me the standout game is Storm's visit to Manly on Saturday.

Sunday's Sharks v Cowboys game will be another intriguing match up.

I know the Bulldogs v Panthers game was due to be played on the Friday, but had to be changed due to the AFL playing at ANZ on the same night, but I can't believe Channel 9 didn't pick the Manly v Melbourne game for the Friday. As I understand it, they get the first pick of the fixtures for Friday Night Football, so why on earth didn't they pick the game at Brookvale? I know the TV viewing figures are down this year, but the broadcasters don't appear to help themselves with some of the scheduling.

The Eels v Dragons game has been moved as was likely to happen given the cavernous size of Allianz.

It's now going to be staged at Parramatta Stadium, a more sensible venue for this clash.

Ouch!

Manly at home too good for Storm today.

They got off to a good start and never really looked back.

They weathered the storm (sic) comeback in the second half then came back strong again.

No punch ups this game.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS ABOUT THE TITANS ROOSTERS GAME

Just caught the last 15 minutes of the Titans v Roosters game online (it's not 07:55 but I saw it's not starting on PS til 08:00). Well I can't speak for the first 65 minutes but what a nailbiter. Dave Taylors try at the end was just, well hilarious, I guess that's what you get when you're trying to go 80m in 1 play after the hooter.

Question about Premier Sports. Is half time just ten minutes of adverts or do they show the Australian studio people?

They do often show half time summaries/studio talk. Fox Sports in particular have two suits facing front doing the analysis. Then there's the slick guy doing the betting who's always doing you a favour.

Thanks for the info. Currently where I live we have Virgin, but I'm moving on Thursday and I can't get Virgin there so switching to Sky. I just hope it's installed and got PS sorted in time for Friday morning for what is probably going to be the match of the season!

More away wins than home so far this round and some dull performances from top teams who maybe have future games in their minds. of them only Souths were able to turn their game round and win and their reward - to go back top of the ladder. Rabbitohs v Roosters next weekend!

Hope you get fixed up in time.

Even if you miss the live showing of the Bunnies/Chooks game they should repeat it both later in the day and hopefully later in the week.

Great too that Premier Sports have also got all the Finals games including the Grand Final and then all the World Cup games.

That Sunday Telegraph (Aus) photo is dramatic.

The talented bloke has his demons.

The article covers the issues pretty well.

Who is the woman in the photo?

Not a top class game that one.

Still Eels took a deserved win.

Dragons though after a decent start just lost the plot.

Dragons fans will surely demand better for next season.

Even some of their best players looked down today.

The final score was close enough to go either way in the end.
