Just in time for some book signings around the RLWC.

Promises to be a good read but can any autobiography of recent years top that of Sean Long's ?

Is this an autobiography or a biog?  I got the impression Mike Appleton (Mascarandy Media, as per the link) was actually writing this book, based on his tweets anyway.  Maybe he is a ghost writer for Briers?

That's a good one. I was thinking of Surging out of Convalescence: "Is your child hyperactive..."

Why release it now, why not wait 1 more year until his career is actually FINISHED. Hate autobiographies that get released before someone actually retires. What happens if Wolves don't win this year yet do the next? That's a significant section missing, especially if his career ends fairytale style

Even if they do win this year, that chapter would be a bit of a rush job. Not a fan of when an autobiography shoe-horns something in that happened a couple of months before publication. I think you need a bit more distance than that

I am sure there will be a paperback edition with the words "Revised and Updated" plastered diagonally in tthe top left right hand corner coming out in November 2014, possibly with a new chapter post retirement as is customary these days.

I hope Lee and his ghostwriter pull no punches when it comes to :

  • His omission from the Great Britain team in the mid noughties, when many - including myself - felt he should have been a driving force for GB before Nobby put on the brakes.
  • And that they do not swerve the pre-Tony Smith allegations that Warrington's drinking team had a rugby problem.

If that's covered it should be a cracking read..

I'm with you, players should put out their bio after they have retired, it does of course though leave it open for an updated second edition.

Just an update to let you all know that Lee will be signing copies of "Off the Cuff" in Wolfware this coming Saturday between 12.30 and 3.00pm. Details on further book signings to follow. which is good because I have tickets for an event the other side of the pennines at 2.30pm .....

You can read a synopsis of "Off the Cuff" on Lee Briers own personal brand new website

http://www.leebriers.com/slider/home/

If it's as good as it's advance publicity it's gonna be an absolute stonker :thankyou:

I want to know why, one of this countries most gifted players for donkeys years could not get in to the GB team.

Similar reasons to Brough in this year's WC IMO.

Briers has written a book? now that really IS scary! Must have been ghost written!

I too wonder why previous GB coaches never chose him. Isn't one of them now his boss?
