Tory party conference

My issue isn't necessarily party political, it's the fact that Osbourne has clearly decided he won't deal with the real problem either.

The Party Conference soundbites are rolling off the tongue, as per.

List:

Tax breaks for Middle England - Check

Get the unemployed scroungers earning the State's hard earned free money - Check

Get tough on immigrants, creating nett migration - Pending

It makes you realise it was only the Lib Dems who had alternative policies. The other two are using different terms for the same outcome.

Hmmm, a spin heavy speech from Cameron.  The first half is just waffle with a mix of Tory rabble rousing and baiting of others with no future policies, the bit about Thatcher was carefully placed to fry the brains of some non-Tories so they wouldn't pay attention to the rest of the speech.

So... on the things he said they're going to do:

- HS2 waffle

- Frack the feck out of the north

- Free schools good!  Let's do more!

- Under 25s no automatic benefits

By far and away the worst of the three main party leader speeches.  It makes Miliband's and Clegg's speeches seem full of concrete and well worked policies.  All it needed was Land of Hope and Glory playing in the background to make the distraction effort complete.

Osborne said the long term jobless will be made to go out doing jobs like litter picking and graffiti cleaning. There are people employed fulltime doing this job,so will they be working alongside each other one getting dole and one getting a wage above minimum?

Or the company contracted to do this work lays it's waged staff off and just uses the "freebies" sent to them by the dole?

Net reduction in unemployed = 0

Right at this minute we have "community service" for criminals, they're easily spotted, usually wearing luminous bibs and looking sullen. This has been going on for years, is there any evidence that people who do this sort of work full time have been layed off so the companies (probably owned by Tories) can get cheap, criminal labour? We have had 3 years of Tories, they must have put down the boiled kittens to make sure this happened? They have, haven't they?

Is there a FFS smiley!!

Saw a journalist tweeting this morning about a lady refusing to take her coat off at the scanner on her way into conference as she was only wearing a bra and knickers underneath - the mind boggles!

When you think about it, it is amazing that a man with so few ideas can be propelled into Downing Street and a position of authority. Still, I suppose the likes of Gove, Hunt and Johnson have more than enough dangerous ideas to make up for Bert & Ernie in Nos. 10 & 11.
