Now for next season and beyond

Nobody will underestimate the task facing Hornets in the Championship.  A huge step up to mix it with the established teams.

Again the stakes are high, with the proposed restructuring of the leagues for season 2015, a key factor in future planning.

Hopefully, this will be clarified, without any doubt, on October 9th.  It appears that restructuring for 2015 could comprise SL1 and SL2, each with 12 teams then split into 3 x 8 teams for play-offs.  What the current Championshp 1 will be is any one's guess!    York has been given assurances (?) by the RFL that they would have a route into 2015's new SL2 at the end of next season.   http://yorkcityknights.co.uk/news/35962/knights-look-to-build-in-2014-starting-tomorrow. The options being apparently:  top C1 team promoted to SL2, or a play-off with teams finishing 10,11 & 12 to decide promotion.  Teams 13,14 relegated regardless.

The club has now to strengthen a team from the basis of the great bunch that has just secured our celebrations.

There is the huge question of dual registration, not least because of Saints' link with Haven.

This will naturally influence the coaching set-up and if there will be a place at the table for Matt Calland, if he wants one?

Hopefully, the revenue streams and sponsorship options will increase - Premier Sports televised over 30 games this season - revenue and exposure.

Increasing our supporters - surely yesterday's achievement will be the catalyst?

Onwards and upwards Hornets - an exciting opportunity to begin a new era of achievement - not to be squandered.

Just a word of warning from how I understand the Premier Sports deal - The club get nothing from televised games except reduced attendances. (Playing on a Thursday evening reduces travelling support significantly and of course the game is on TV so no need to go!).

Anyway you should not be worrying about that just yet.......Well played Hornets - enjoyed the game yesterday and you thoroughly deserved the win.

Nice flourish at then end for English too.

Congratulations.

I don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence.
