Does the World Cup games show the potential of WC?

Given the strong ticket sales for the two games it shows the sleeping giant that West Cumbria is. It makes you wonder if this will spur somebody on to seriously think about a West Cumbrian SL team. It shows with the right marketing and the right product on the pitch that the people of the area will pay their money to watch RL.

Will we have anyone brave enough to grasp the nettle and mention the M word???

It's a one off in my opinion. The west Cumbrian public are very fickle if after a season it two the team was getting beat most weeks crowds would drop.

Would love to be proved wrong.

The amount of people that probably travel out of the county to watch SL regardless of who's playing shows there's interest. I think its a no brainier half the costs, twice the RFL funding, bigger crowds........

If you read the general forum there are a lot of fans from outside Cumbria attending the game, as they want to support the RLWC in general and are loking forward to seeing teams like Tonga.
