Tapping into Dong

8 posts in this topic

I know it's been mentioned on here before particularly in relation to the floodlight fund, about getting some monies out of Dong Energy.

According to today's Evening Mail

"Dong also plans to create a community benefit fund, which could offer a total of £750,000 a year to local projects throughout the windfarm’s lifespan."

So it appears they are prepared to payout to local community projects.

Someone needs to get their foot into Dongs door ASAP.

Can someone tell me how a firm from out of town/country can do this but local firms are withdrawing funding from sports clubs and don't seem to help with the towns rugby and football sides

Dong have to put into community projects as part of there next planning application. I arranged £100k from Dong in 2011 for new floodlights but there sponsorship was pulled following a certain person moving there large advertising boards for his own.  I have tapped them and Vattenfall since then but they say that a ltd club does not qualify as a community project . The funds need to be put into a none profitable project such as a community center or playground.

Nothing wrong with someone tapping them again but IMO it will be better late 2014 when Dong are not in a partnership with Scottish Power.

That's the same with Kimberly Clark they don't give ££££.

Wasn't there a a way round it where the club set up a community project where these company's pay X amount in the pot?
