Australian side for Limerick boom boom

14 posts in this topic

... no not a funny poem ... Limerick in Ireland.

In the mean time here's the aussie team for the game in Limerick versus Ireland on Saturday:

Australia: Billy Slater, Jarryd Hayne, Brent Tate, Josh Morris, Brett Morris, Daly Cherry-Evans, Cooper Cronk, Paul Gallen, Cameron Smith (capt), James Tamou, Greg Bird, Sam Thaiday, Nate Myles. Interchange: Boyd Cordner, Robbie Farah, Andrew Fifita, Corey Parker, Josh Papalii, Johnathan Thurston, Michael Jennings. (three to be omitted).

The team arrived very late

Blaming Morris, Nate Myles and Brent Tate

They took to the field

Vowing never to yield

Regardless of the attrition rate.

There was an Australian called Sheens
Whose team wasn't jam-packed with teens
But they flew to Limerick
Where DCE made them tick
Then they feasted on sausage and beans

From the country of 'Starsky and Hutch'
The Tomahawks weren't fancied much
But the Kukis they beat
Then Iestyn did bleat
Versus Scotland, is it one game too much?

The Tongans came on with much muscle
But Danny Brough made Scotland hustle
The boys should be proud
And the crowd should shout loud
Tonight, what a hell of a tussle!

From the Kumuls we expected so much
But it seems like they've quite lost their touch
At Lam and Meninga
PNG press point the finger
Because they haven't delivered as such

The Italian posed an enigma
Their origin carried a stigma
Their accents were Aussie
Their fullback was bossy
And he owned a pet spiny echidna (I'm grasping at straws here, folks)

The Bravehearts they beat USA

With four tries, three goals, wohay!

Wallace and Brough

Proved to be tough

Now the Scots need to win on Sunday.

With Burgess and Burgess and Burgess
The English pack powerfully surges
As kids they were sweeter
And appeared on 'Blue Peter'
Presented by Noakes, Judd and Purvis

The Aussies have Cam Smith and Farah

And of course not forgetting C Parkah

The Aussies will win at the finish

Their chances just grow not diminish

Whatever the outcome

There's surely no doubt-some

Will be drowning their sorrows with Guinness!

Billy was out for the night

When a Mancunian wanted a fight

The bloke threw a punch

Then threw up his lunch

When Slater put the bloke right

The semis are with us quite soon

When Fiji's hope will be scattered and strewn

So its Oz to go through

And the Kiwis there too

But England at Old Trafford'll be a boon!

The Aussie will hammer the Bati

To think otherwise would be scatty!

Kiwis will be tough

Do England have enough?

And will I have enough cash for a latte?

How cruel a blow was that,

England are out, oh drat!

Johnson nipped in

With a Kiwi type grin

Pulling rabbit from out of top hat!
