If he's found guilty of anything, send him packing. I don't like what i'm seeing from the team on the field. We don't need any distractions off it.

Billy Slater has been detained by police in the United Kingdom in yet another incident involving the Kangaroos in Manchester.

Just weeks after Canberra enforcer Josh Papalii was robbed by two men while withdrawing 200 pounds at an ATM, Slater was placed in police custody over an alleged nightclub scuffle. After cooperating with police, he was released on Monday evening [AEDT].

It's believed that the Melbourne fullback was the victim and is unlikely to be charged.

Manchester sounds nice.

You mean crimes don't happen in Australian cities?

Maybe the Aussie team should stop going to nightclubs.

I didn't say that but robbed and in a fight in only a couple of weeks sounds a bit unlucky for a small group of players, I doubt they are in the nightclub every night.

I am pretty positive the English team should stop going anywhere there is Alcohol.

The Melbourne Storm veteran was detained by police in the early hours of Monday in the northern England city, but was released by Greater Manchester Police after questioning and CCTV footage was reviewed.

Australian team management put out a statement saying Slater had returned to the nightclub to collect his jacket when he was attacked.

"Australian Rugby League team management can confirm player Billy Slater was detained by police this morning and has been released without charge," said the statement.

"After reviewing CCTV footage of a scuffle outside a Manchester nightclub, police have determined that Slater was the victim who then acted in self-defence and has informed him of his right to press charges.

"Billy was returning to the venue to collect his jacket that he left behind, when he was attacked.

"Both men were detained for several hours while police reviewed footage of the incident."

Manchester's fine, lived there 3 years and have visited on numerous occasions and have never been in any bother and have rarely seen it. Maybe Australian RL players are trouble magnets?

Maybe it was him that mugged Josh Papalli..

And Josh found his £200 in Billy's jacket as he was going through the pockets to see who's it was to return it to the rightful owner.

They must be.

Withdrawing money from an ATM

Going back to get your Jacket.

Bloody trouble makers they deserve to be robbed and beaten up with behavior like theirs.

Maybe they were giving it the big "I am", attracts a bit of attention to yourself and things are a bit more likely to happen, after all apart from England as far as I am aware we haven't heard of any bother for any other team

The local thug should consider himself lucky he didn't target Gallen.

Released without charge, apparently acted in self defence and didn't do anything wrong.

Nobody goes out around Manchester in a jacket, this obviously brought attention to himself sparking a heated row as to whether he was just 'showing off' which ended badly!

So a young man, one of the best players in the world goes into a nightclub in our country, is attacked and then questioned about the incident.

Subsequently he is shown to be the victim and people on here gloat.

What a way to welcome visitors who have royally entertained us.
