Simply look at nz spine in particular 7,6 and 9 now compare to England not in same ball park.

A manufactured 7 and a nrl reserve grader at 6 England have no hope sure well flog France with plenty of confidence but without a decent 7 and 6 you won't win big games.

Peter Wallace.

Living proof that just because you play NRL means zip. Part time players in the Scotland side were more impressive than him and Linnett.

Wallace has played SOO too.

Getting his head bounced off the floor early doors in a (fair) Vatuvei tackle won't have helped.

Of all the different triangular combinations within the big three, unfortunately ours is the weakest.  Our half backs are going to get a lot of traffic next week.  Sinfield was our top tackler against Australia, it's likely NZ will rock up with the same plan.

How can brough start for england when he the man himself given the choice chose scotland?!?!?!

You clearly have issues with the england coach, thats fair enough but at least find something factual to have a go about instead of making things up to suit! !!!

You need to get your facts right not Odsal. Brough was told back in June by McNamara that he was not in his 40 man squad, he was not being picked for the Exiles game the following weekend and was not in his England plans. Hence the reason he used his Grandparent heritage and went to play for Scotland as his only chance of playing in the world cup. That's no issue with the England coach it's factual.

I cannot believe the English coach he has a big pack and very good outside backs and goes with chase and sinfield

Well that's me just back in from the first of all four quarters this weekend.  As with every game in this tournament its been a great experience.  Crowd tried their best to lift Scotland, who were just not good enough. Kiwis look very, very good. Big & mean through the middle and bags of pace out wide. Personally, I was disappointed with Brough - admittedly playing behind a beaten pack, but seemed very reluctant to take the line on and came up with some ordinary passes for most of the game and took completely the wrong option having made a break.

Scotland have been great, and its been a pleasure watching them, but today they weren't quite good enough tonight.

Right. Time for bed! And the countdown for USA v AUS begins!!

Knew you wouldn't be far away with some derogatory comment, pretty predictable and boring now.

He has been that for quite some time now

This made me smile - NRL player rubbish = not NRL player at all (and presumably Origin was made up)

Getting his head bounced off the floor early doors in a (fair) Vatuvei tackle won't have helped.

That would be a good reason except that wasn't Wallace.

It was pretty gruesome. Just witnessing it must have affected Wallace.

Meh.

guys - leave the McNamara bashing off this thread - you are very boring. This is about Scotland v NZ.

Was a great game to be at. We were firmly in the Scotland camp but it was a genuinely brilliant experience to watch the Kiwis. I never feel like that watching the Aussies who are often more industrious.

Plenty of positives for Scotland, hopefully they'll be able to build on this team for 2017, they should be very proud.

I think the commentary style is very reminiscent of Test Match Special. Very respectful and positive about the game, but also entertaining in a way which would appeal to non-rugby league afficionados.

Spot on.

"throw another haggis on the barby" has to be the best line yet from this wc.

Yes but only after you 'get the bagpipes out'.

Yet the Scottish coach said that Brough had confirmed to him he would be with Scotland back in February - reported in rugby league the other week and I don't see why the scottish coach would make it up.
