An innocent man died 50 years ago - anyone remember?

Lee Harvey Oswald.

You're a couple of days too early, aren't you? He wasn't murdered until 24th November.

Or is this another conspiracy theory in the making?  ;)

A couple of days, so what?

Heard a comment about Kennedy's history being symboli because everyone got to decide how it'd work out.

What do the oldies remember?

Don't remember a thing.

Me neither, but it was just about three weeks shy of my first birthday.

Everyone I know remembers where they were and how they heard of his death.

I wasn't particularly political at the time and in my ignorance was slightly enthralled

at the Kennedy myth.

His death helped perpetuate that myth, so that for a long while it seemed inappropriate to criticise the Kennedy legend.

Had he lived long enough to see out his time as President history would not have been so kind.

His legacy was just a shallowing of politics in the west. Style over substance.

I agree. And who say he's innocent Larry?

In that he hadn't been tried for the crime and therefore had not been proved guilty then, yes an innocent man  he was.

The amount of evidence against him though was very high.
