Looking forward to the first game of the season. Will be interesting to see how our (All Golds) new look squad compete against you guys. Last year we would have got stuffed, this year still may - who knows, but squad appears a lot stronger.  Any premier inn or similar close to your place?

Bit in Press today about the fact that the fixtures are out, but nobody has

a clue about possible promotion options - for me (been very biased) it

would be great if they put the supposed re-structuring back a year & do

the normal 2 up (top of league & play off winners) and 2 down as this season

Apparently it's one up this year and it's the winners of the grand final. Not the league toppers.

Correct - did hear top five in a playoff and no Championship sides involved but it's a long time between now and next September !!

If you stay near the stadium there's no night life in that area and you're a bit out on a limb. If that doesn't interest you fair enough but if it does then you want to be staying in the city centre. The ground is about one and a half miles out of the centre and no public transport there after about 800pm. There are 2 Premier Inns and 2 Travelodges in the centre of town. You'll find them on the net.

Thanks Clarence Street for the info.  Not a party animal but a pint and a curry are essentials!  Will consider options and costs nearer time, but will def be making a visit to your place on 2 March.

Don't Gloucester actually play in Cheltenham?

Gloucester is actually University of Gloucestershire All Golds, owned by the uni, but not a closed students team.  Last season played most games in Cheltenham, but also played two in Lydney.  Some debate as to home ground for next season, but announcement due soon.  Long term plans are for a ground at the campus in Gloucester.

Why always thought the top team in the league at the end of the season should go up. Is this because you have little faith in York finishing top and think you have a better chance in a play off situation. But then again the maximum points you can score are 51 due to the Hawks taking 9 points from you.

Might agree normally about top of the league, but its not a normal division

when some teams have different fixtures to others.....

Following from Cas website (have a look at the picture) - looks like he needs

some Championship 1 games to me.....

Castleford Tigers is delighted to announce that 18-year-old Will Maher has become the first player to graduate from the RFL Regional Academy programme after signing a two-year professional contract with the club.

The towering Cumbrian prop impressed the Tigers' academy coaching staff while he was on a Player Exchange deal in July, which came after he was identified as a player who had demonstrated good behaviours, high levels of consistent effort and adherence to the Regional Academy programme.
