This might be the last time that we can see one of the top clubs in future.    The new 3 x 8's system that they are introducing also includes a proposal that the top 8 SL clubs be exempt from the Challenge Cup until the 5th Round (last 16).   So, in future we would have to be in the 8 other teams in order to get one of the "plum" teams in the draw.

If you ask me it's a joke this new system should've just kept it how it is with 1 up 1 down from sl and 2 up 2 down from championship

That's nowhere near what Wigan promised to bring typical Wigan

Look at the squad numbers and you will see that the majority in the first 13 names are (except 1) in the 26 numbers.    Several of these players are new to Wigan having just signed but neverthless Wigan first team players.

thats still good they were never gonna bring all their top players. We dont wanna end up like the jampots on the end of over a century do we and atleast we aint playing against a total bunch of kids like the rhinos brought to the wreck.

Plus Dan Sarginson and Tony Clubb were established SL players with London Broncos and John Bateman played for Bradford Bulls and is tipped as the new up and coming forward.

Maybe the Wigan Squad published by the News and Star isn't the final selection. I quote an on-line 'Wigan Today' article published today.

"Eddy Pettybourne is ready to prove himself in his Warriors debut on Sunday in the Paul Prescott's testimonial match against Workington......". If true, the team just got more and more interesting. I for one would love to see this ex West Tigers / current USA forward play against our lads.

Eddy Pettybourne SR/P squad number 22 (52) confirmed on twitter that he is definitely playing on Sunday.

In addition, Jordan James has signed a playing contract with Wigan (already on the coaching staff). Jordan will be given squad number 28 and is likely to make his first appearance in a Warriors shirt on Sunday.

Also a rumour that Ben Flowers will play.

That's a Wigan team worth going a fair way to watch in my opinion .
