Haney reprieved if injury and maybe interchange during game for a few sets at fullback to see Tierney to full effect . Pitch could be the real factor on Sunday though - not a day to judge silky skills !!! As Cooke thought he'd point out

I don't think lever deserves a place in the side over our lads, the other 2 have played in big games from Wigan, he has only played at under 19s and it's a big step up.

Yeh a bit of experience in the front row and a bit of second row cover . Two Walnes still tick both boxes !!!

Good good . With Batley next week and our home form so key to us it certainly is a biggy . Hope the pitch and conditions hold up

Neither of the Walne brothers made the Salford 19 man squad for the Sunday match.

I'd play Brett Phillips at prop to catch there big lads for mobility as we have back row options and get our best centre Dan Rooney back out wide he's a big hard hitting lad but hell never be a forward IMO

Rooney is more centre than second row ... And Red is more second row than centre . I agree it would be a shame if Rooney was consigned to a forward role so early in his career . Fitting the right pegs into the right holes is up to them , and it'll be interesting to see what they do in the coming weeks . Especially if outside help comes in there'll always be lads waiting for a chance , but everyone will get one in this long slog . Then they have to nail it down . Few of our backs have done that yet . Hopefully they can this year

not playing because he can't make training tomorrow apparently. I know that's a reason for thacks missing a good few games last season as well.

Carter has been dropped for a wigan player, shocking! I feel sorry for him! He is one of our best players and has trained and played in our pre season and then gets dropped!! Spot on Town!

So which is it ? This is quite important going forward. If you're out for not training then that sets the bar for the season ... And if a player comes in and gets his preferred spot above a key town player then that could lead to problems .

hes been dropped because he can't make training tomorrow. Although I'm sure whichever of the Wigan lads replace him will have trained a total of 2 times. We've been down this road before and it always seems to be Brett, last season with briscoe for example.
