Town travel to normanton knights in the cup. Never heard of them.

Wakefield team ncl 2 there home ground is known as the graveyard best known as the home if Ben Thaler and Westwood. I'd imagine well be playing that game at belle vue and there is no chance of an upset

Seven Cumbrian teams in the draw and only one (Egremont) drawn at home!!      Six Championship teams drawn away and 3 are the Cumbrian teams!!

Many quality rugby players started their careers playing for Normanton, for example, Ben Westwood and David Topliss.

They beat Seaton by a point a few years back thanks to a conversion that missed but was given taken by a certain Ben Cockayne!

i would think Normanton would regard themselves as more Castleford than Wakefield.....not that it matters

Thanks for the correction RPH.

What a place to play your rugby in. Less than 25 miles to Bradford, Huddersfield and Halifax, within 15 miles of Leeds, Batley and Dewsbury and less than 5 miles to Wakefield, Featherstone and Castleford!

Although possibly incomplete, the record of Normanton players who have turned (semi)professional is extremely commendable:

Wakefield 9

Bramley 9

Halifax 7

Castleford 6

Huddersfield 6

Featherstone 3

Leeds 3

Batley 3

Doncaster 2

Sheffield 2

Dewsbury 2

Hull 2

Bradford 2

Hunslet 1
