Barrow Match

Fascinating to see what a totally new face from the outside with no preconceptions at all thinks of our players and how he sets them up and in what positions . Really interesting times ahead , working from a clean slate and seeing what his style and plans are . If we keep hold of Tierney in the longer term I agree with you wonky , I'd like to see Brett step up and try one of the halves spots . He could be a real game changer there and add a bit of xfactor .

I don't think we will see radical changes for the Barrow match (too soon), but I expect to see the real "Veivers Style" on the 23rd of March when we take on our old enemy Keighley at Derwent Park!

i just think he offers more than forber and Lupton there. A bit of pace and guile should take some pressure off Callum.

Anything's better than Forber. We don't even need his goalkicking now we've got Connor.  Why's Big Red not been playing? He'll make a great backrower.

Just to let you lads know, the Raiders Bar will be open from 1.30. Get yourselves in for a drink, your all welcome. As for who wins, obviously I want Barrow but should be a tight match.

A595 is shut for resurfacing between grizbeck & askam but u can get to Ulverston then A590 to barrow...if thats any help for the town fans.

Off a fella I work with, just incase any of you were heading that way.

Interesting

As good as brett is, how could anyone consider dropping mcavoy after that performance at second row last week.

Brett will play his way back in the side I'm sure

brett should be at least on the bench, or at worst moved to prop, unless of course he still isn't right after missing last week.

McAvoys natural position is prop but he did really well in the second row as stated Brett and Hopkins as replacement props would have been a great interchange. You can't change a winning team but I'm baffled how McGoffs in over Brett when we've made a change

I don't really want to see Brett getting bashed up the middle as a prop . We've got guys less talented to do the hard yards . He's a real weapon on the edge threatening the line against lighter guys , breaking through to score ,and creating for the backs . Him and Stack are top notch second rows at this level . Fit and well that's one area I wouldn't be tinkering with . And they can play 80 there , as opposed to prop , and you want these guys on the pitch . Especially as pitches dry and they can gallop . All the best today anyway and to Mr Veivers in his first game . A winnable game for us as much as them . Making a good 20 or 40 into 60 or 70 and we can grab this .

I know what you mean Dave, I just want to see Brett on the pitch, and him and stack should be the 1st forwards named in our side. Veivers has only taken 1 session but im sure he will realise Brett's a definite starter in any team in this league once he's seen more of him.

The coach decided to go with the team that won last week,i know brett was not to happy about being left out but he will be in the team i am sure for the future. The coach did say he knew a few of the players but wanted to asess them before he went elsewhere for players and by the way they all performed today he's got a job on hands.Talking to a mate at the match he told me that big red had packed in but i cannot see the big fella just walking out on the club?lets hope not he is not a bad player but a bit overweight at the moment.

For big red it could be a blessing in disguise having his old coach, I'm sure he will be back but next week you have got too expect rolo, duerden, Rooney and young lucock will get some game time,

Fair play he gave mcgoff a chance today too and he wasn't too good going forward but he did his job in defence like the rest of them,

Excellent win and looking forward to the rest of this championship campaign and the long challenge cup run also

Good point chief . Ideal opportunity to have a look at the rest of his squad and give the lads a gallop
