Official Rams Updates

Rams v Wigan, Tetleys Stadium - 4th April, 8pm KO

Dean ram...The Carboot runs until 12. Rugby league want games kickoffed no later than 2... Not enough time to get ready for match as gates would need to be open by 12.30 with a 2 kickoff. Pull a sicky mate ;) only joking :)

chris as shall we say ''the voice of experience'' speaking now

pitfalls in your statement

carboot can be cleared for 12 quite simply by motivating the punters to leave

next point as when I ran the carboot and also covered a wigan match, the carboot staff doubled up as stewards

this now is not the case and is done by a private company..so why cant they come in early along with ground staff

another point on matchdays we had junior games and those teams arrived for 1pm kick offs...the ground was ready and secure for 1pm kick off after the boot sale finished at 12

now can you see how the facts are crumbling that we cant do a 2pm kick off

think the problem is the golden goose that lays all those tax free golden eggs on a sunday morning,is far more important than the supporters views & feelings

and by having it on Friday the club think their getting the best of both worlds

we shall see

Do you realy want to miss the match because of this though coolie?

chris I cannot physically go

girlfriend works until 8pm...shes a new supporter too and also feels let down by the club as shes at work

I have 4 children under 15 youngest been 7 years old,how can I on earth bring them to a night match that could pull 2,500 folk

and safely watch the game and also keep an eye on them...im good and at times superhuman....but that my friend is a impossible task on your own

where as a sunday game they can run wild punching touch judges and pestering me every 5 minutes for chips or a drink while I & my other half enjoy the game and socialise

with our good friends on the south stand

try to understand how p.izzed I am at the clubs stance

MATCHDAY IS SUNDAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I just say people. Follow rams on Facebook and twitter and read the statuses and tweets .. I see no negativity ... It's all saved for here . I won't be on here tmora. Fed up of it tbh. If I'm there alone at match by myself I don't care, because ILL STILL BE THERE!!! UTR !!!!! You wonder why people like ossy and others left the forum. Stuff like this is why. Wigan played fev other year in cup at fev on a Friday night and guess what!! They didn't complain and got a full house. They enjoyed the occasion which is what we should all do

GFDU has explained what he thinks the reason might be. What I am after is the clubs official response as the decision has clearly upset a lot of loyal supporters.

I was p*ssed off about the Friday night ko at 1st, but Ive come round to it now.

There must be a good reason why it's happened. Maybe the club will be financially better off by having the Friday ko, if that's the case I'm glad the club made the decision they have.

Fans have 2 weeks to arrange babysitters or trying to change work hours. If you really want to be at the match, you'll be there.

look at it this way. No other matches on Friday so wakey Leeds batley fev fans ect may come support the rams too. I believe a night match adds to the occasion and from reading comments on FB I reckon the club may be suprised how well tickets will sell :)

Chris this is a principle thing

We play Sundays ( unless good Friday at home)

Fans structure their lives around keeping Sunday free as its our match day.

Suddenly were drawn at home against one of the biggest clubs... On history in the world...

And as a suspect kissed a.ss at every corner to accommodate their every wimp

would be surprised they get the home changing room

This could have been a massive platform to launch the club to another level

A full day to enchant new supporters

Into attending more home games

Giving them some kind of "wow factor"

And show the club how far it's come

And now lost

To be crammed in for a couple hours after tea

Bravo!!!

Let's see what the attendance is shall we. Coolie if they played the match in your back garden at a time to suit you you would find reason to complain.

Hey DTID if you are fed up with the negativity dont log on. I vacated this forum for the latter part of last season because of individuals trying to censor us. It worked for me. Forums are for moaners. We all know that and slow or limuted info from the club just adds to the fun.

Ricohet? Will you be attending still? Imsure the club will release a statement why later as they said they will be another statement in regards to tickets once tickets have been printed. Seem as Guest from down under is mates with mark and as inside info about the club though, that is probably the reason. He is very reliable

true and everyone is allowed an opinion, just like Wakefield ram says though. Some people would moan at it if it was played in there own back garden. I'm only trying to be positive because it should be a positive time. Shall you be attending nick?

Still waiting ORU, cat got your tongue?

Hi Rick,

I am not sure entirely what you mean? The club have released a statement regarding the game. They have offered discounts for ST holders including free entry for junior ST holders.

We have released information on the game within just a few days of it being announced whereas many clubs release the information about a week or so before the game. We have provided tickets at excellent value and have not increased their cost as some clubs might.

Regarding the questions behind the decision to hold it Friday evening - Few clubs offer the transparency we do, for example the recent statement regarding Tom Lillycrop - No smoke screens, genuine reasons. Unfortunately the flip side to such transparency is that certain supporters come to expect everything detailing when this is not always possible. Not at our club, not at any club, not in business full stop. But I still maintain that at the Rams we provide far more information (and credible information) than most other clubs.

If there was more information to release - You know it would be released.

All the best

ORU thanks for the updates , your profile is abit of a lightning rod for the club at the minute. Good to see a discount for ST holders £11 to watch this game is bargain , would have been easy to add a couple of quid to the ticket prices. Lets hope we sell out the ground.

You may consider that some of us on here whinge or are negative, but this has to be expected when the club chooses other aspects of its organisation to the detriment if we rugby supporters. The club then allows Wigan to point out that that club plays on Friday nights, so we have to bow to them. It may not be the case, but it comes across that way.

The Friday fixture will definitely reduce the attendance, whether or not supporters can or cannot make arrangements to change their schedule for that day. I also feel that had the fixture been played on the Sunday the club would have taken more income through its catering and bar facilities and here I do not mean just the burger van.

Then we have the Tom Lillycrop situation. Glenn Morrison let slip on BBC Radio Leeds that he had had to release one of his players, but we had to wait for about a week to find out from the club officially.

Call it whingeing or negative posting if you like, DTID, but some of us feel strongly that the club has let us down and not for the first time.

I do understand why people are frustrated. I never said I didn't but it won't stop me from attending the match. If the club did play Sunday at 2 which the rfl requested all clubs to by the latest, then the Carboot will all be needed to have gone by 12 as the Wigan team and fans will start to arrive anytime past 12 .30 when the gates open so from

That point of view I can see why The club chose this. Remember when we played bulls in cup, the southstand was full an hour before kickoff.. That's what would happen playing Wigan as superleague fans turn up early.... It would make it real ectic getting rid of the Carboot and fans arriving of Wigan at around the same time.. Saturdays grand national day. I think the clubs gesture of making it cheaper to season ticket holders shows it's loyalty towards its fans mate. 11 quid to stand and watch our team against the super league and challenge cup champs is a bargain if you ask me! How many other clubs would do a deal like that without trying to rip its fans for every many? 16 quid in at Sheffield this weekend. It's 18 quid in this year at fev.... Will you be attending crown flatter? I hope so. You obviously don't want to miss the match

So what is the ''official'' reason we are playing on Friday night as opposed to Sunday afternoon?
