Could south Yorkshire set up its own amateur league ? Teams like Hoyland Vikings , Dodworth , Hillsborough Hawks , Rotherham Giants , Doncaster Toll Bar , Moorend , Bentley GC and Barnsley Broncos. Maybe by having our own league it might help set up more teams in our area and with better communication with the two semi pro teams it might help produce more home grown local talent .

Rotherham Giants, Dodworth and Barnsley Broncos have folded havent they? The gulf in standards between the remaining sides wouldnt mean for a productive league.

Yeah, it's important to play against teams of roughly your own ability.

thats why SL should be ring fenced as the community game is from the semi-pro

Up to a point, I agree with you.  However, the full time pro game can attract player movement provided they have the finances in a way that the semipro/community game cannot.

yes, you could bring in semi-pro players to your amateur side, but that would be selling its soul, displaced community players would go elsewhere and upon relegation there would be a void when the semi-pro players moved on,

This has played out at several pro / semi pro clubs....and happens in union....

So you're saying that $uperleague should be ringfenced because it's not a good idea for amateur clubs to sign up semi-pros ?  Bit of a non-sequitor and, anyway, we're drifting further and further off topic here.......
