Hard luck today , I am sure you will get a win soon . The Dons team spirit saw them home just.

Sounds like a good team effort from Barrow - maybe we are seeing the first shoots of a revivial

To start with a negative, that's another game lost in the last quarter of the game.

Now the positives.

The team seems a lot fitter.

That was the best performance since Sheffield.

I really do believe we have turned a corner.

even if we have turned a corner I fear it may be too late Ron !!

I think you are right Ron when you look at the remaining games and home and away. We will have a much better idea after Batley on Sunday.

It seems like a corner turned too late. We needed results like this at the start of the season not half way through. The best thing which happened to us was Murray leaving and Goulding coming in. He has addressed the changes and put the things together. We were 4 minutes away from beating a top 4 side at their own ground.

It's too late to be honest. With 5 relegation spots it's just too late to recover. The signs were there from NW crusaders away. We have an amateur base to get promoted next year. With goulding involved we will be a force in the championship in 2 years time.

It sounds like Goulding dose not want to be involved if Barrow are relegated and looking at the table yes there is points possible to stay up but this would only be achievable by the other teams below the relegation spot obtaining no points.

Now is the time for the BOD to start thinking of next year and next years budget and ensuring they have an affordable coach in line for the end of the season so affordable players can be picked and ready for next season to ensure the club comes back from the ashes.

Darren Holt may be our best candidate if we can get him back as he has achieved what the club wanted and needed.

without a shadow of doubt it is essential we beat Batley and Dewsbury Rochdale and Donny in the next 4 home games

We need 12 points from the next 4 games it's essential. Last season 37 points was required too finish 9th. We are currently on 5 points. 12 points will take us too 17 points after 13 games the half way point in the season. That theoretically means we will get 34 points at the end of the season which isn't actually enough so we will have to hope we have a better second half to the season.

If we don't get at least 10 points from the next 4 games we are relegated IMHO opinion.

D11 how do you know Bobby won't be interested if we go down. As for bringing Darren Holt back it would be backward step

for the club and the players.

very good and much improved team performance yesterday. Joe Bullock was brilliant. Harrison ran his blood to water, our left side defence was left asking, hence Doncaster did their homework and played there big No 11 out in the centre who scored three tries, the third try being a blatant pull back on Campbell, which should have been a penalty to us. Our discipline let us down at vital times in the game which cost us dearly. But speaking to Dom Speakman after the game he was gutted but very positive saying wait till next week. Well done Barrow and Bobby .

How would it be a backward step bringing Darren Holt back? In his first year as coach he put a squad together from scratch on a limited budget and gained promotion to the Championship. He then tried to assemble a squad on the same budget he had in the previous year. If a little more money had been made available he could of brought in two or three more experienced players. As it was he still managed to keep the team in the Championship, only just, but he still managed it. He also did it with no DR players. This year more money was spent on players and look who was brought in, a lot of young inexperienced amateur's some of which would struggle in Championship 1 let alone the Championship. When Anthony Murray was appointed as Head Coach the BOD publicly stated "We have the right man for the job". So much for that idea. Darren Holt did what was asked of him and got sacked for his trouble. In his two years as coach the team won over 50% of their games. No other team sacked their coach not even the teams which were relegated. Bobbie Goulding is doing a good job but even he needs decent players in order to succeed.

Good post, We have played Workington, Featherstone, Halifax, and Leigh at home, leaving 9 home matches, all winnable, if we can't win these we don't deserve to stay up.

Concerned fan isn't the salary cap in Championship 1 150k? So you're saying we spent 150k a year on a squads salaries last year.

If we only spent £150,000 on wages and Darren Holt kept us up I hardly think he would of been sacked. Do you have any evidence to show that's how much we spent?

I don't know exactly how much has been spent this year but I just worked it out that it has to be a lot more because of all the travelling expenses. They are all taken into account when working out the salary cap. There wasn't as many travellers last year or the year before. All I was saying was that Darren Holt achieved what was asked of him and I don't think anyone can deny that fact.
