Well done to Leigh on a great cup run, a shame they didn't get a better draw or they could well be in the semi. We pushed Leigh to within 6 points twice therefore we are not that far away, perhaps we are missing a motivator on the field, maybe Houghy could do a Flintoff and give us that boost. If the worst happens and we go down if the 3 cumbrian clubs go down think of the travelling they will have,it could be Swinton York and Hornets battling it out.does anyone no the promotion rules for next season ?

Workington sit in tenth with only three wins, but have 8 bonus points - at that rate they could lose by 11 every week and win the bloody title!   Ian Talbot recognised the importance of the dreaded bonus point to clubs' survival hopes.

And 'Tal' recognises that Hornets are still on a learning curve when it comes to being savvy at this level.

These related crucial points are ones we need to come to terms with now if we wish to stay at this level - and the same would apply were it only two down this season.  Even observing from afar, it does appear that we need someone on the field with the experience/savvy to motivate an 80 minute performance.  Any candidates?   It is worrying that we have shipped 150 points in the last 4 games after the heroics of March/April.  We seem to have some good fire power but speed in attack and aggressive, in the face defence will be crucial to our success.  See Leigh's cup performance v Leeds.

Nine points adrift of safety is a tall order, hopeless if we continue to miss out on bp.  Extended away trips do not help and the fixtures do not get easier with our next game at home, in July, v. high spending Fev!

Give survival a real go Hornets starting Friday - the rewards will be much higher.

It will be much harder to regain promotion from C1 next season (two up inc.1 via play-offs, I think) and do we really wish to play at Whitebank?
