Corruption, sexual predation and war-mongering

Been wondering how to couch this, but in the wake of the Saville/Harris affairs and the coming inquiry into maybe a paedophile ring or rings in the upper echelons of society here goes.

They attack our wages and living conditions to sustain a system that benefits only them.

They attack our health services and our pensions stating they are "unaffordable" whilst waging constant warfare costing billions around the globe.

They prey on our children, using them to satisfy their sexual appetites before casting them aside and the evidence is hidden with the knowledge and collusion of those at the apex of their system.

I'll leave it there, but this could easily turn into an essay.

I'll wait for the usual suspects to say that there are no connections between these themes, that it has nothing to do with politics or economics, that I'm taking the whole thing out of context, but I stand by what I've said above.

Last time I looked it appeared that I was paying more into the system than my family is getting out of the system....and I am a long long way away from being considered the upper echelons of society (certainly in financial terms) who are no doubt paying a lot more into the 'system'.

I assume my taxes are benefiting those who pay less into the 'system' compared to the benefits they get from the 'system'?

I shall allows others to expose the flaws in the rest of your claims.

sexual abuse crosses class, and status, you don't have to be an establishment figure to be a perv, and you don't have to a kid in a children's home to be a victim.

isn't that how it's supposed to work Tim?

'From each according to his abilities to each according to his needs'. I'm fine with that.

It wasn't a complaint, just an observation to highlight the inaccuracy in the first post on this thread.

It's the alleged cover up that's the issue too don't forget.

sorry pal

No worries.

I know I am in a fortunate position, I worked hard to get here and my family and I have a comfortable life. I am quite happy to contribute to society (the 'system'). I've been through tough times when I found myself down to the last pennies to get by on and that was no fun.

I would rather live in a society where the well off help support those who need help. I've benefited from the NHS, police, fire-service, council services and probably countless other services that my taxes help pay for without me even realising it.

There are no connections. Happy now?

Many (most?) paedophiles, religious fundamentalists, professional politicians and media personalities are hypocrites. That's the common factor.

True but the ruling class looks after it's own they flout the laws they impose on us.

Abortion was illegal, ruling class women booked into private clinics for a "tonsillectomy" and had an abortion, working class women went to a butcher with a coat hanger.

Rich heroin addicts like the Marquis of Blandford went unpunished and lived a healthy life because they could afford good quality heroin, working class addicts end up mainlining granulated battery acid and bleach.

Tax evasion is only worthwhile if you do it massively.

Jimmy Saville and his ilk protected by order of the witch herself.

I stand by every word.

You may well stand by every word, but that does not make you right, Indeed, it increases the chances of you being wrong on many other issues, too and certainly reduces your credibility..and you were doing so well.

At one time the members of the establishment, whoever they were, were thought to be beyond reproach.

Now, whoever they are, they are thought to be beyond redemption.

Both views of the establishment, whoever may now qualify to be included within its definition, are ludicrous.

I rather doubt that Thatcher knew too much about Savile's crimes, as most others who met him also seemed not to. I suspect she had other things to worry about.

And resorting to misogyny doesn't really enhance your argument.

It's also worth remembering, when we read about the establishment protecting its own, that it failed to prevent people like Archer and Aitken becoming guests of Her Majesty. Inevitably some will have escaped justice, but I doubtt the numbers that the current hysteria would seem to suggest.

The truth is that individuals who engage in sex crimes can come from any background, as we have seen with those who have already been put away.

Thatcher and her vassal Edwina Currie gave Saville control of Broadmoor secure psychiatric hospital. Whether Saville was a sexual predator or not this was a gross dereliction of responsibility, and there was outrage at the time amongst professionals involved in the care of people with mental health problems of which I was one.

I don't know the details of how and why Savile had access to Broadmoor in the way he had, and it does seem absurd, particularly with hindsight.

But I would guess that the people responsible for the hospital assumed that celebrities visiting the patients would be good for their morale.

Savile was a BBC icon, and as such he was trusted by a lot of people.

saville was more than a visitor

he headed up a working party to decide policy. He had his own key to the place.

The concern was strongly expressed at the time. Professionals in the field felt he was inappropriate, and that the way he was appointed was deeply flawed, and expressed those views at the time. The fact that he was a pervert is another matter

Currie herself said recently that Saville was given the job because he was strong on breaking the unions.

Much more important than his "predilections"

Well obviously my credibility with a load of people I've never met is a major issue to me.

Indeed. Don't imagine that there aren't loads of connections between non-Tory politicians and paedophiles*. Politicians abusing power isn't a left vs right issue.

* Cyril Smith for one.

Remember that there were certain allegations from a few months ago that Webby and CKN would rather that we didn't discuss. Not opening that can of worms. Just a reminder that nobody else should either.

One thing that's always made me scratch my head is how do paedophiles get to know each other in an enclosed environment like Westminster.  Even where people have known each other for decades I can't imagine it's something you'd find in the Westminster bar "I'm off to do highly illegal and immoral things to small boys, want to join in?"

I can understand the web forums where internet "anonymity" allows people to say and do things they could never do in a room full of strangers but physical meetings between like-minded individuals who have no clue that the others are like-minded individuals just strikes me as baffling.

Maybe when your morals have been that far degraded by doing those things it lowers your inhibitions and makes vile practices more "normal".

I've always wondered about this kind of thing too.

So your sitting in a pub and your mate says "hey I know where there is an 88 year old Granny we could go and beat up, I reckon we could clear at least a tenner from her purse"

"Good idea I wish I'd thought of that"
