Each evening I give a little "woo" when I cross the border heading home.

This morning heading west, I booed.

Good effort but wide of the mark.

Yorkshire people are always happy, happy that they aren't Lancastrians.

The feeling's mutual; we're happy they aren't Lancashire as well. :D

I saw the title of the thread and thought, this'll be something pointless, like Yorkshire Day.  Always nice to be right

Petty jealousy being shown by an inferior race.It must be awful being a lancastrian, knowing you'll never be good enough to be a Yorkshireman.

The one day a year where the TRL trolls out themselves to spoil our humble cap doffing.

Edited out.

My mistake, I'd forgotten exactly which thread I was insulting Lancastrians on.

Still,

Happy Yorkshire Day to all my fellow Tykes.  I was in a shop in Ramsbottom the other day, they were clearly big Lanky fans, they had Lancashire Relish  and Lancashire tea. I've never heard of Lancashire Relish.  The chippy next door was called "the Wandering Tyke" and boasted the best Yorkshire fish and chips in Lancashire

How can you tell whether someone is from Yorkshire?

They tell you.

Repeatedly.

Frankly, we even have to keep reminding ourselves just how lucky we are!

Gold and Bronze in today's Commonwealth Games cycling road races.

And a Gold for Wales.

You from Lancashire, too, then?

Of course Lancashire's biggest selling point is the neighbour immediately to the east.

The best thing about Yorkshire is with sea levels rising it's there to stop Lancashire eroding.

The speed of erosion from the North Sea means that Lancashire will soon be bigger than Yorkshire.

I won't mention the war but we did win it didn't we?

The coastline isn't eroding; envious people from elsewhere in Britain keep stealing bits.

A bit like Germany, Yorkshire has won the peace.

;)

Although, to be fair, we haven't had the ambition to create something like Burnley,  an entire town which exists as a World War I Theme Park.

Depends upon who you mean by "we."
