Brough still in our plans, says Scotland boss

Recommended Posts

Scotland head coach Steve McCormack says that Huddersfield star Danny Brough could play for the Bravehearts this autumn.

McCormack told League Express: “I’ve spoken to Danny regularly, and I know that he would like to play.

“The bottom line is it all depends if he’s fit. We’ll discuss the situation with Huddersfield and Danny, but that’s a discussion that will have to take place in the future.”

One player who will miss Scotland’s autumn series is prop Mitch Stringer, who has confirmed that he will not play.

“Losing Mitch is a big blow,” said McCormack. “He’s been part of our squad for the last six or seven years, and he’s an integral part of everything we’ve done.”

He added: “So far 13 of the squad from the World Cup last year have confirmed they are available, with another handful awaiting verdicts on operations.

“We should end up with at least half a dozen Super League regulars in the squad, and some exciting young talent. We’ve also got a couple of players back in the reckoning who missed the World Cup through injury.”
