Doncaster RLFC player coach Paul Cooke spoke to the official website following Sunday’s defeat to Workington Town.

The defeat leaves Doncaster without a win from their opening three games in the Championship, a record shared only with basement club Whitehaven.

Cooke admitted he was far from pleased with the latest defeat.

He said: “I’m really disappointed, we have to regroup quickly and as a group we need to stick together and we will.

“Ultimately we are all aware that the performance wasn’t good enough and we thoroughly we got what we deserved for the amount of respect that we showed the ball and possession, along with the amount of field position we gave the opposition.

“The top and bottom of it is that we didn’t respect the football.

“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what is going wrong in the place and we have to begin to get this right.

“We need to learn lessons quickly from it, otherwise it is going to be an extremely long season.

“We have to come back from this and we will.”
