Probable first notable death of the year. Futtocks, at what time did you get to the scene? :girlwah:

Personally always greatly amused when England football fail, but he always seemed a thoroughly decent man, who had to endure utterly disgusting abuse

I know he was 72 but he didn't seem that old for some reason.  By all accounts a very nice guy.

Really well summed up Jeff. He was an extremely passionate, loyal and trustworthy custodian of a number of teams and these characteristics appear to be in short supply these days. In latter years, I always found him to be an interesting and insightful summariser on the telly/wireless. RIP.

I don't think anyone else could have done better with that England side as it was a team in transition. A lot of the key players from Italia 90 weren't there any more and some of what would have been Taylors best players had lengthy injuries which kept them out for long periods.

The fact that he took Watford from the fourth division to the first division and nearly won it and nearly winning it with Aston Villa after getting them promoted showed what a good manager he was.

Lord Snowdon 2017 seems to be picking up right where 2016 left off. :(

I know what you mean, it's uncanny how the New Year always seems to start with January and old people carry on dying.

Wouldn't say that an 86 year old and 72 year old who are the only two really known to the general public, on this thread, is similar to last years strange events.
