Graham Posted January 4, 2017 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Cheerleaders Canberra Raiders have decided not to have Cheerleaders in 2017 They've opted to have a community dance competition for local dance school. Each group taking part will get a donation of $500 Good idea? Something different? Community involvement. Upsetting for the current cheerleaders. Cheerleading an out of date idea? Sports Prophet Posted January 14, 2017 Share Posted January 14, 2017 I don't have any problem with the cheerleaders. I think the Raiders decision comes down to some political reasoning. Something like "it offends fat unfit people to have women dressed in lycra dancing with pom poms". I see no problem with fit, talented dancers both displaying their skills and entertaining the crowd.
