Keighley player Emmerson Whittel has jaw broke by Fryston fans

Recommended Posts

According to the players girlfriend who has just posted on Twitter:

Mass brawl on pitch - Whittel shown a red card. He's then set upon by Fryston fans with one of them kicking him in the face.

Just been to A&E had had it confirmed he's broken his jaw.

The game was obviously recorded - hopefully the culprits can be dealt with.

Unfortunately not the first time Fryston has attracted this sort of incident.

Hopefully all involved are identified and action taken. Plus a speedy recovery for the Keighley player

No place for that in our game. Ban the club.

I can see amateur clubs getting banned from the Challenge cup if this is true. Its happened before. Having said that, I won't accept this as fact until its proven. On another thread somebody who went to the game reckons this is just not true. I'm not saying this didn't happen but I have been to a few games where there have been trouble and every time it has been blown out of all proportion, usually by people who were not at the game or have a agenda against a certain team. I'm well aware of Fryston's reputation and if this is proven they should be severely punished, but I will wait until the facts come out.

Having spoken to Keighley fans who were at the game.

The Keighley player wasnt attacked by fans. It was the Fryston players who attacked him.

Edited by guess who

Just had a gander at Fryston on Google Earth, very odd looking layout of a place.

And there's a chav in a tracksuit wearing a baseball cap, sat on a doorstep giving the v sign to the Google Earth camera vehicle as it goes past.

Charming place by the sound and looks of it.

Video on Facebook show the Keighley player getting attacked by 3 Fryston players. The number 11 repeatly using his kness to the Keighley players head whilst the other two are hitting him.

Just seen this on social media, sickening attack by 4 (not 3) fryston morons, 2 holding him, one kneeing him and one little coward throwing punches from behind his mate. Hope the fat number 11 gets sine die.

There's someone called Chloe aker that has it on her Facebook.

Seems this definitely isn't the first time they have been involved in this kind of thing.

The conversation on the thread of that video. Wow.

Fryston player on there defending his actions, making himself look and sound like a thug.

Most thugs are that stupid that they come across like that. Unfortunately Amatuer RL does attract those types into the game, it's not widespread but they are about. It's up to the clubs to realise they add nothing to the game and get rid

When these things happen, the RFL and local Leagues never seem to come down hard enough.  Small bans and the thugs seem to filter back into the game ar whatever level.  A statement ban/fine needs to be made, despite what the Police do.

As a young player, played at Fryston once in the late 80s.  Our winger was totally in the clear and going over but got a stiff arm tackle from a spectator. Referree just waved play on.  Couldn't believe it.

The fact that the Fryston players & supporters are on social media trying to justify their actions as part & parcel of rugby sums up what a blot the club is to the game.
