***** WELCOME *****
... to our second tipping competition the new season.
.
At least we've now had some games played giving us chance to start gauging teams' form and potential.
Everyone reading this is welcome to enter this weekly competition which runs throughout the season.
Whether you've taken part before or you fancy having a go this season for the first time you're guaranteed a warm welcome.
Entries are allowed each week up until the kick off of the first game in the round
NB This round's first game is again on THURSDAY

ROUND 2 QUESTIONS:

*Poll Competition:
Which Round 2 game will produce the smallest margin of victory?
- enter in the poll itself at the top and put your answer in your posting.

The poll is anonymous so we can't give you credit unless it is in your predictions post.

Now the main event of the week:

*Match tipping Competition:
Name the 8 (that's EIGHT) winning teams in NRL Round 2

*Points Competition
How many points will be scored by all the teams added together in R2?
This is a competition in itself and will act as a tie breaker for the match tipping comp if necessary. This is used as the decider when necessary so do give it a go.

*AWAY Win Competition:
How many AWAY wins will there be in NRL R2?

In rounds where the game is on the road and played at a neutral venue, the team named first in the fixture will be regarded as the home team for the purposes of this competition.

Fixtures:
58c6eee5de1d0_NRLR2.JPG.d9beedc21dbf657770060eba1e05de89.JPG

An animated award will be given for the winner(s) of the competitions.
Match tipping scores will be added together as the season progresses to produce a Tipsters' Ladder which is pinned to the top of the forum topic list page

The best of luck to everyone.

Enjoy your Rugby League!

B) Cheers, Graham

######! Forgot to get my tips in this week, and I'm at work now for another hour, so I won't get them in in time for the first game and will have to sit this round out.

Don't worry about today's game StormGirl, if you can't get the first game prediction in before it kicks off just put in your predictions for the rest of the games and all the other categories- away wins, points total, poll.

Might you just get the Roosters v Dogs game in? There's a bit of time yet.

This does occasionally happen.

All the best,

Graham

I'll be home in about half an hour, so will see what I can do then.

I thought if you missed tipping the first game, that was it - you were too late to tip at all for the round.  Oh well, here it goes anyway with the rest of them.

You are right in principle, but occasionally people do miss the first game.

We try to be as inclusive as possible and nobody ever does anything shady.

Previous seasons  when the first game was sometimes Thursday or Friday could catch someone out.

Still your R2 tips minus Game 1 are in StormGirl.

Match Tipping:

Our top scorers this week with 5/8 are Irish Saint  and Vichyssoise

When two or more tipsters share the top score we decide on a champion tipster for the week by looking at their predictions for the points total by all teams, and the nearest to the correct figure gets the title.

So our tie breaker does come into play this first weekend:

VIchyssiose (-58) is this week's Champ Tipster being a bit nearer to 391 than Irish Saint  (-74)

Points Total: There was a massive 391 points scored in this second round. Nearest to this was Farmduck just a smidgen away on -43
The Away Win comp wasn't won this week as none of us predicted there'd be as many as 3 away wins.
Our Poll Comp was jointly won by Irish Saint and Rugby Female who both  picked the Broncos vs Cowboys  as the game that would produce the smallest winning margin, on this occasion by 1 point with the game going to golden point extra time and being decided by a field goal.

Animated awards will be presented to this week's winners as soon as I've been able to create them.
Our Round 3 tipping competition will be posted shortly.

Congratulations to our  top scorers this week  Irish Saint  and Vichyssoise

Thanks to everyone who took part.

Graham
