Dave T
And to think we were told that we were effectively creating and 8 team SL and it would be the same every year. Those voices have quietened (or moved onto a slightly different point). Whilst my team is struggling im finding this season fascinating.

Just Browny
Going on positions at the start of the day, we had 9th beat 4th and 12th beat 3rd. Plus last year's MPG winners beating last year's LLS, and last year's 8th beating last year's champions. I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly. glossop saint
What a refreshing sight. If Hull can replace Leeds in the top 4 then we really would have a fantastic play offs. I'd love to see Cas v Salford at Old Trafford. Hopefully the people of Salford could get out in force to cheer their team on and I think Cas would light up the final with some great rugby on one of the two biggest domestic stages in the game (and they could do it in the Cup as well). West Leeds Riviera
Imagine if there were only 23 rounds before the playoffs. I don't think SL would be this competitive with 14 teams
Southerner80
I think 14 teams, 27 rounds, 6 team finals is the way to go....Hull KR and a decently financed Toulouse would both be competitive. Top 4 this year I think Cas, Salford, Leeds and probably Saints to make a late surge... Hull don't look like a top 4 team right now and Wakefield have done really well under Kear but I can see Saints edging out that last position....don't write off Wigan either

Scubby
I think 36 points will secure the top 4 places this year as it is so close. It was 38 in 2015 and 40 points in 2017 (but had a runaway top 4). That would mean 8 wins from 14 for Wakefield and Leeds and as few as 5/6 from 14 for Salford and Cas. It is all on for those clubs enjoying the ride. Old Frightful
Can you buy "Wigan Warriors" or "St Helens" plug in light fittings anywhere? They look great sat in the middle of the table. With Halloween coming up I decided to go to my local fancy dress shop to see if I could get a Dracula costume. After a few minutes the assistant handed me a Hull KR shirt asking "Is this suitable?", I replied "I think you may have misheard me, I said I wanted to look like a count." GaryO
My expectation for this season was for Leigh to finish in the the bottom 4, obviously I would have liked to have avoided the 8's altogether but being included in there I would liked to have finished in 9th or 10th ensuring 4 as opposed to 3 home games in the mini league, considering we are only 1 position of my desired finish we still have a lot to play for, so realistically I should not be to disappointed yet. It must be galling when your sights are set so high at the outset like those of my nearest neighbours Wire, Wigan and Saints, maybe even Hull FC even though I know of one of their very loyal supporters who is pessimistic before every game of the outcome. I must say I do find this topsy-turvy results wise season refreshing and I hope that Cas, Salford and Wakey can keep the momentum going. I think that Widnes, Leigh and Huddersfield are nailed on bottom 3, the fact that they have yet to play each other will make it interesting though I make Huddersfield favourites for 10th position being at the moment 2 points clear with a game in hand, and having the games v Leigh and Widnes both at home. The conundrum is who will be 9th, I would not fancy having to face Wire, nor the very real possibility of having to visit France twice in the 8's at both Catalans and Tolouse, but hey oh we will see what transpires and if we find ourselves in the MPG I hope we will have finished in 4th not 5th giving us the home advantage. davet
Giants participation in either the top 8 or middle 8 will be a lot clearer after their next 3 matches. Wire @ home on Sunday, Catalan away on the 10th of June & Saints @ home on the 16th. Nothing less than 2 wins there and the middle 8's it will be. 2 wins + then destiny could well be in our own hands. From memory the rest of the seasons consists of Wigan & Leigh & Widnes @ home with Hull & Salford away. Anything around 20 or 22 pts should be enough to be in the top 8 this year. The next 7 rounds of matches, or 8 if you are a Giants or Saints fan are going to be very interesting with there being something to play for for everyone. EVERY MINUTE MATTERS!!
