Coventry Bears new Podcast

Recommended Posts

We’ve got a special episode out this week and joined by a man who is synonymous with the Coventry Bears. A man who has been there from the start, who has done just about every job possible at the club, and who has been one of Bears CEO Alan Robinson’s most trusted lieutenants for twenty years.

That man is, of course, Ron Banks (Bearman on these forums). It's a really fascinating interview so give it a listen 👍

Cheers. One of the toughest ones we've had to do but think we got the balance right. Always helps to have a Garry Schofield interview in there too 👍

I have to admit I haven't been able to listen to the podcast for a while but it must be refreshing to be able to talk about back to back wins. I wasn't that excited about the bears this time last year but they're doing everything right off the field and the podcasts make them easier to engage with so they're now my adopted League One team. Have attendances dropped off slightly this season? They do well to be not far off those of more established teams but with the exception of the Bradford match they seem to be a little down on last season from what i've seen.

Thanks for the nice comments. In terms of attendances they are down a little. Sunday was the smallest attendance of the season which I'd think that was to do with the world cup final being on. Saying that they have broken the attendance record twice this year (Leeds preseason and Bradford in the league) and some of the challenge Cup attendances were pretty good so I would say potential to draw a decent crowd is most definitely there.

Great stuff guys enjoyed listening to that in the office this evening. The Bears deserve full credit - especially after some of the flack that has been thrown at them in recent weeks.

Unfortunately, a trip to the high-flying York City Knights was a step too far for the Coventry Bears, who weren’t able to secure a fifth consecutive win. Not to worry though, we were there to see it and we’ve got all the match analysis, plus the post-match reaction from Bears head coach Tom Tsang.

Not only that, we’ve got more of your Ask Mr C questions and we’ll look ahead to this weekend’s game against Doncaster.
