11 Aug: SL Super 8s: Salford Red Devils v Castleford Tigers KO 8pm (TV)

Recommended Posts

That makes Cas the sixth different side to finish top in six years (nearly seven in seven had Hull not bottled it last year in the last game).

2011: Warrington

2012: Wigan

2013: Huddersfield

2014: St Helens

2015: Leeds

2016: Warrington (nearly Hull ?)

2017: Castleford

And they say it's the same teams every year...

The thing is, the so called big clubs bang on about you need to win a grand final. You don't. LLS is a major achievement for us. Even if we don't win the big one.

Wakey, Salford and ourselves aren't big clubs, we take what scraps we can. Just so happens we have the best coach in the league. We should get better, but we won't get much bigger.

So, so proud tonight.

Cas deserved winners but Salford got far too many substandard players in the squad who cant step up!!

OConnor mentioning Carney but I'm afraid he's talking about a Carney of history . God knows where he's gone

Attendance circa 2800 with ~ 500/900 hospitality/away fans

Cas sold over 900 tickets - this combined with those that paid at the gate means that the turnout of home fans was dreadful.

Both puzzling and concerning for a side that have played a great style of rugby this year, got to a semi and are still in with a great shout of the Top 4

Strange
