Well the answer to that is to ensure that contracts are renewed/updated as required well in advance of their expiry to stop him picking people off.

And yet he signed a new one year deal With Wakefield in August.

I do wonder at what level Bradford have been allowed to set their salary cap, given the restrictions applied to many other clubs in the lower divisions.

Not sure if I appreciate Keats move. He made it sound as though he was moving home a la wakey for one last swan song but he loves a challenge and loves the game. Hope he likes motorways!

As for cherrypicking players. Our lot have a few gcses and surely a move to odsal would be a financial/ career gamble

So do we presume a compensation package was agreed .

Apparently one has been agreed.

Don't forget that a (new) precedent appears to have been set for a parachute payment to a relegated club............

It will be the same as everyone else as long as they can afford it. Unfortunately Bradford have a recent history of spending money they have not got.

Well no it won't TBO. Most people don't understand just how the salary cap works in the Championship league but it is quite tortuous and complicated this year, and doesn't simply allow clubs to spend what they wish. On the contrary each club's cap has to be negotiated with the RFL and all contracts issued have to be approved to confirm that they comply with this cap.

The objective is to prevent clubs spending well beyond their means and ending up as financial basket-cases. Whether this wil be the outcome remains to be seen.

Old chestnut, but Bulls shouldn't really be in business anyway with their bankruptcy track record. The RFL never went out on a limb when other clubs (Bramley, Blackpool etc) were in a hole. All those years on SL money, championships and world club champions....however they are here, so how about a DR with them for our players who MD can't keep happy and any of theirs who look like being a cut above could step up a league to test themselves? At least we know our lads would still get good coaching and respect.
