Aretha Franklin the queen of soul 76 ?

I've been too upset to comment, until now.

I've spent the day listening to my Aretha collection, watched Blues Brothers, & pick'n"mix soul, blues stax etc all day. I'm dehydrated because of tears.

I loved Aretha. Through Blues Bros., I discovered Nina Simone, then I'm lost in the maze.

Mm, what a fantastic voice. I never heard a better female singer.

Perhaps only Ella Fitzgerald is in the same class.

Another part of my youth gone

RIP Aretha!!!

I was on the train this morning listening to her music, & I started crying, the woman opposite me asked if I was alright? When I told my fellow passenger who I was listening to, she shared my earphone through to Brighton. Apparently she was only going to Lewes.

Neither of us were in a hurry, we just listened.

Thank you Sandréne, you have this address.

RIP Kofi Annan.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

An ultimately prophetic last line in this verse.

"Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you"

RIP Jacqueline Pearce, best known for Blake 7, I’d guess.

As a young kid in the 70s I thought she was sexy as hell in her outfits but played the part as the bad-ass superbly given the restrictions of the scripts/set etc.
