Stadium naming rights

I'm coming late to this discussion due to (yet another) pressing holiday engagement, however I think RPH is absolutely right (even if it is none of his business  ). A simple straightforward name gets established in time and, more often than not, the sponsorship appendage provides the glitz and e-numbers for the impressionable youngsters. As an example look at the problesm with the Huddersfield stadium which has never had a traditional name, moving from one sponsor to another (McAlpine, Galpharm, John Simths etc) - that provides no longevity of identity.

Call it Owl Lane Stadium, adding the sponsor as a precursor, and it will eventually stick. My personal view is that such as "Sports Village" is pretentious and attempting to create an image of something that isn't reality, in other words a sham.

Sports Hamlet then.

Yep, I believe in accuracy when naming a Stadium -  something that reflects the character and characters associated with it.  So when does your gaff get renamed "The dogs Boll0x stadium" then ? ;)

Nay, RPH. He's wondering whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them.

Southstanders are a cultured lot, don't you know?
